Year 2009

Rydel's POV

 We had lived in LA for a year. Yet, I hadn't gotten any good friends, or flings... it felt like my life had stagnated, it was boring. Sure, Riker had done some comerical, but my life was just boring. That's when my parents decided to let us join The Rage Boyz Crew. 

"C'mon guys! Hurry up! You don't want to be late for your first day, do you?" mum said as we waited for the boys to get ready. Seriously, they took like forever to get ready, yet I were the Princess. It just didn't make any sense. We got into our van and went to the studio. 

When we got there everyone seemed so experienced. I felt like a beginnner, even though we had gone to a performing arts school. I looked around in the room at everyone. Suddenly a boy my age came up to me and my brothers. 

"Hi! I'm Ellington, but most people call me Ratliff, that's my last name!" he said. I smiled and shook his hand. We all introduced ourselfs and the boys started talking. I looked at Ellington. He was kinda cute. I smiled to myself and started doing warm ups. After a while I got caught in the dancing and when I stopped I realized everyone was looking at me. I blushed and slowly walked to my brothers. Then someone started clapping their hands. A long middleaged man walked out of the crowd. 

"That was great!" he said. The others started clapping their hands too. I smiled and blushed harder. "That my friends are what I want you to do! Just be spontaneous and improvise! Well then, what are you waiting for? Go ahead!" he clapped his hands twice and everyone started dancing. Ellington danced to me.

"You're a really good dancer!" he said. I smiled.

"Thanks!" I said. Oh no! I think I was falling in love with him! Maybe this was my chance for a romance...

Present time

Ratliff's POV

"Bye mom! I'm going to Kelly's!" I yell and run outside to my car. (A/N: I don't know if he has a car, but let's say he does) I drive to my wonderful girlfriend's house. When I knock on the door her dad openes it. 

"Hi sir! Is Kelly at home?" I ask politley. He smile and nodd, opening the door more so that I can step inside. He points to the stairs that leads to the basement. I nodd and go downstairs to her room. She's sitting on her bed, reading some kind of magazine. When I come into the room she looks up. I sit beside her and kiss her on the head. 

"Hi Ellibear!" she says. I laugh and peck her on her lips. "We're having fun together, right?" she asks. I look suprisingly at her. 

"Yeah! Of course!" I say. She nodds and looks up at me. I can see that she wants to talk about something. "What is it Kelly?" I ask. She sighs and look down into her magazine again. '

"Do you love me Ellington?" she asks. I look at her in suprise. Why would she ask that?

"Of course I do! You're my girlfriend!"

"Yeah, but don't you think we're more like friends?" I think for a while. Kelly and I have always been good friends. Maybe we're not acting that much like a couple, but more like friends. She takes my silence as a 'yes'. 

"I knew it!" she says. "We should break up!" my eyes widen. She can't be serious! But she sure is! I sigh and kiss her on the head. 

"Maybe we should!" I say and pull her closer to me. She pulls out of my grip and stands up. I follow her lead and stands up too. 

"So I guess this is the end then..." she says slowly. I nodd. "Friends?" she asks with hope in her eyes. I smile and nodd.

"Of course!" I say and pull her in for a hug. We stand like that for a while before I let go of her. "I have to go, band rehearsal!" I say and she nodds. I run upstairs and out to my car. I hurry to the Lynch's house. I promise myself not to cry as I knock on the door. Riker opens and we go down to their basement to practice. I sit behind the drums and we start playin different songs. I get out of step all the time and suddenly I can't take it any more. The feelings explode inside me and I start crying. Everyone stop playing and looks at me.

"What's wrong Ell?" Rocky asks. I don't answer, I'm too busy crying. "E-rat?" he says, since that always makes me smile. Not today, though. Rydel comes up to me and helps me to the couch. I sit and she sits next to me.

"Ell, what's wrong, if you don't tell we can't help you!" she says. I look into her hazel eyes, and suddenly feel a bit calmer. Until I remember why I'm crying and starts crying even harder.

"Kelly - And I w-we broke up" I say between sobs. Rydel hug me and strokes my back. She's the best hugger I know. Her hugs always makes you feel better. "We were more like friends and we decided to end it but - but-"

"It still hurts!" Rocky ends my sentence. I nodd and Rydel hugs me tighter. After a while I feel better, but we don't continue playing. We just watch a movie, a funny one!
