Be Jake --->

Today was gonna be the best day of your life! Or so you thought.....

Your name is Jake English, and today you were going hiking with your family! You absolutely love going on these family outings and can't help but be excited, but today was different. Little did you know today would lead you to the worst possible future you could ever have thought would happen.....

I just had the best day of my life! Mummy and Daddy took me on an adventure today to celebrate my seventh birthday. I had so much fun climbing the mountain with the new hiking boots they had gotten me. We were heading back down the mountain on our way home, I had fallen asleep in the back of my mum's beautiful blue car. Ah blue, her favorite colour. The colour of the flowers she loved so dear. You wake suddenly, pulled from a dream as if pulled from the sea you were drowning in. A sea of thoughts that were clouded by images of your mother as if the world was trying to hint to you the oncoming tragedy that would take place. But as the naive child you were, you never believed a tragedy straight from a storybook would ever happen to you.

What awoke you was the sound of your mother and father's screams. You aren't very sure what happened after that, all you know is you woke up to a very nice lady who was wrapping a wound that you had no idea how you had gotten. "Young man, excuse me." She snapped her fingers in front of my face to get my attention, frowning I looked up. The lady had a very kind face that was framed by beautifully cut hair that appeared almost curly despite the short cut. Her voice was very smooth and soothing as she spoke her next line. "Dear, do you remember anything that happened?" I looked at her in confusion and shook my head. She frowned and seemed as if what she was about to say would physically pain her. "Well let me help you with some of your memory then." She paused and looked at me to make sure I followed. "First off my name is Kanaya, it's a pleasure to meet you young man." I smiled and put my hand out. "I'm Jake, it's my pleasure miss!" She smiled sadly and gave me a sympathetic look. "Look, Jake, I can't say this any other way but...." She stopped for a little while and started to cry a bit. "I'm sorry to say this Jake but your parents were killed; a head on collision by a drunk driver. But somehow we believe your mother shielded you with her body before the crash."

What. This was the only thought I had when miss Kanaya told me what had happened. I looked over in the direction of the accident in disbelief. My mum's beautiful blue car was smashed in the front; another car smashed into it, appearing to almost be a merged amalgamation of beautiful blue and shiny silver. Glass was spread across the ground, covering the other car as well....and the blood. The blood stained the ground around the shards of glass and pieces of crushed metal. I put a hand to my mouth in shock as I started to cry, shock finally taking over me. Miss Kanaya walked over to comfort me, but before she reached me I passed out due to the stress and the bubbling fear of loneliness that arose to the surface choking me and holding me down in the depths of despair.

The next thing I knew I was in a white room surrounded by strange people that I couldn't quite make out, seeing as how I could only see the blurry figures of an young woman and a child around my age, maybe even younger. "Um excuse me?...who's there? Where are my glasses?" I hear a chuckle-purr (?) followed by a reply from the woman with a high pitched voice. "A hello would've been a purrfect response to just waking up Jake." I squinted at her trying to make out features from the blob of green and blue when suddenly she moved toward me and handed me something, my glasses. Putting on the black rimmed glasses I could finally see the lady and girl in front of me. The lady was wearing a blue cat eared beanie and a long coat, looking to be in her mid 20's. The girl looked to be no more than 5 or 6 with long black hair, a white dress with a blue atomic symbol on the front and black sleeves. Both of the women had similar eye colours to you. The oldest having a olive green colour and the younger having a deep forest green colour like yours. You decided to find out what happened and why they are here, seeing as how you can't remember how you got here or what happened before. " Umm, excuse me miss." She turned and looked at me with a smile, urging me to continue. "Why am I here? What is this place? Do you know where my parents are? Why are you here with me?" She seemed overwhelmed as she tried to answer them all. "Well, mew are here because mew were in a car accident, this place is a hospital, and ummm...." She stopped and I tilted my aching head. "But miss what about my parents?, Why are you here miss? She looked a little upset but decided to continue. "Well your mother and father died in a car accident, and I own a small orphanage on the outskirts of town where we take in children without homes."

I started to have a breakdown, because I Jake English, age seven, am now an orphan at the Skaia City Orphanage.
