Chapter 2

Cannon

"Why have you been takings o many pictures?" Annalise asked me. "Seriously, it's just picture after picture with you."

"That's because I need to update my fans," I said.

"With selfies?"

"Uh, of course. Look at me. I'm gorgeous."

Annalise sighed. "Some days, I wish I was back to being your biggest fan without really knowing you personally."

"Well then, I'll just date Hunter instead."

For once, Hunter didn't object or tell me to stop saying that. He didn't even say anything at all, which was off for him. Normally, he would always tell me to stop hitting on him whenever I did.

I leaned forward. "You okay?" I asked Hunter.

"Huh?"

"I asked if you're okay," I said.

"Why would you ask that?"

"Because you always get mad when I say I'll date you or when I hit on you," I said. "You didn't this time."

"Oh, because I'm driving and I would rather not get into an argument with you," Hunter said. "But you really do need to stop hitting on me. I'm not going to date you."

"First Annalise, and now you?" I asked before looking at Violet. "What do you say, Violet? You and me?"

"Sorry, but I don't go after my best friend's boyfriend," Violet said.

"Uh, or you can not go after anyone because you have a boyfriend," Hunter said.

"Yeah, that too," Violet said.

"Great to know I'm your second choice," Hunter said.

I leaned back in my seat and looked over at Annalise. "I'm bored. Love me. Pay attention to me. Kiss me."

Annalise rolled her eyes and kissed my cheek. That was it. Just my cheek.

"Well, I'm insulted."

"You're so dramatic."

"I'm also insulted."

We soon arrived at the first place for our road trip; Hunter's great-grandma's house. He didn't get to see her often, and she was on the route of our road trip, so he thought we could stop there.

Hunter pulled into the driveway of her house and we all got out and followed him up the front steps to her door. He knocked on the door and waited for her to answer. As soon as she did, she smiled and pulled him into a hug. "There's my favorite grandson!" she said.

"Gigi, I'm your only grandson," Hunter said.

"Thus, my favorite. So, these are your friends?"

"Yeah," Hunter said. "This is Violet, Annalise, and Cannon."

"It's nice to meet you all," she said. "Hunter, tell me, is Cannon your boyfriend?"

"I like her," I said.

"No, he's not my boyfriend," Hunter said. "I'm not gay."

"Oh, so you're bi?"

"What, no."

"Pan?"

"No, I'm straight," Hunter said. "Why would you think Cannon is my boyfriend?"

"Because of the way you looked at him."

"I didn't....Gigi, Violet is my girlfriend."

"Oh, I'm sorry," she said, looking over at Violet.

"No, don't worry about it," Violet said. "Annalise and I think are still planning Hunter and Cannon's wedding."

"See?" I said to Hunter. "You're the only one objecting to this. Everyone thinks we should get together."

"We are not getting together, Cannon," Hunter said.

"You're missing out."

"Don't worry, we'll still be planning the wedding," Annalise said.

"I don't get it," Hunter said. "Why does my and Cannon's girlfriends want us to date someone else?"

"Because the bromance game is strong," Violet said. "Besides, we all know you're secretly gay and in love with Cannon."

Hunter glared at his girlfriend. "I'm straight, Vi, you know that."

"I know," Violet said. "I'm just teasing you."

"Hunter, you should have brought your friends over a long time ago," his great-grandma said. "I really like them. Come inside now so we can plan your and Cannon's wedding even more."

Hunter sighed. "I'm never going to hear the end of this."

So these chapters will be pretty short, and the book will probably end on chapter 8 so that everyone gets 2 POVs.

And omg I'm so triggered. THEY DON'T HAVE BEAVERTAILS IN WHISTLER ANYMORE. I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO IT WHAT THE HECK WHY IS MY LIFE SO HARD?
