Ratliff's pov

Oh no! What does Rydel want? I cannot bear to look at her angelic face even though she broke my heart, but perhaps she wants to mend it? I wish...

I was in the car listening to 'I need your love.'

I arrived at the Lynch's and went to meet Rydel. On the way to her room I saw Laura. She flashed a smile at me and noticed that I was walking to Rydel's room and wished me good luck.

I knocked on the door.

"Ratliff?" I heard from the other end.

"Yeah,"I replied.

"Come in!"

I walked in.

"Um, hi."I awkwardly spoke.

"Hey, Ell, I need your help."

I shut the door behind me and sat on her bed.

The way she says my name makes me shiver. No-one else calls me by my first name: Ellington? It sounds like Wellington. Or Smellington. Or Poop.

Ok, not so much the last one.

"Ok, yeah."

"Um, I really like this boy but Ross kind of broke into my love life when he said that I broke my admirer's heart by liking this boy. I don't know who he meant my admirer is-"

Rydel's pov

Ratliff looked at me intently.

As though he wanted something.

He wanted me.

No! I'm being ridiculous!

He stared at me with his beautiful green eyes. I started to melt down- right there.

"-and I'm starting to feel...um...feelings...um...uh...for someone....else. Perhaps, my admirer."

I hope he got the message.

Over the past couple of days I've been thinking that maybe, just maybe I might like Ratliff.

"And..."

Obviously not. He wanted me to say it. He wanted me to admit my love. For. Him.

"I don't know what to do."

"Ok, so is this multiple choice where I have an option or am I going to have to think?"He joked. He's just too funny!

I laughed.

"Ok, you want easy, ok I'll give you easy!" I playfully said.

"A: I admit my feelings to the one I think is my admirer.

B: I ignore those feelings and focus on my friend before Ross came in.

C: I ask Ross who my admirer is.

D: I..I...I...I dunno."

He laughed. He looked at me with his special twinkle in his eye that no-one else has.

Ratliff's pov

A!! DEFINITELY!! If I'm her thought-to-be-admirer. (which I am) then she will talk to me! BUT if I'm not then, she could become a thing with someone else!!! I better take this risk- after all: Life starts at the end of your comfort zone. Take smart risks not stupid ones. Life is full of risks.

"I say, A."

"Ok, thanks."She said, a bit more quietly.

I gazed into her beautiful eyes. Then out of no where I started leaning in. Although, she didn't lean in either!!! Oh, damn it! I've messed it up. She sat there, shocked.

I've read many stories and no matter what state the friendship is- they both lean in! Why didn't she??! It's supposed to happen! You lied to me fanfiction.net!

"Sorry, I don't know what happened." I muttered.

"It's...It's ok."She gently soothed.

I stood up, waiting for her to spill out her feelings to me.
