The notes stopped a couple days later, as did their visits. We were happy again. I was happy again, living with no fears. In 1940, about five years after the morning I learned about Natalya, Ana found out she was pregnant with our beautiful baby girl, Alexandra Klasnikov. The nine months leading up to meeting our daughter were excruciating. Both Ana and I were highly impatient, but every moment was worth it once Alexandra was born. She was beautiful with her mother's everything, with the only redeeming quality of mine noticeably in our daughter was the eyes she had. They were so similar to mine that it was simply like she took the eyes straight out of my head and put them in her own head, which were ocean blue. She was beautiful and perfect in every way, with chubby cheeks and a gorgeous smile. The first time I saw her, I knew my life was brighter than ever before.
Now that we had a family, we needed to protect each other as much as possible. So in protection, Ana and I had learned how to properly use and take care of pistols so that we could purchase one. We kept the gun in the dresser next to the front door.
But then it happened again.
Chapter 5
Alexandra, Ana and I had been home for about a month when it began again. Ana had just began working again when the fucker first showed up again.
"Viktor, I'm leaving!" Ana yelled through the house.
"Come say goodbye to Alexandra first!" I yelled.
I heard the sound of shoes against the hardwood floor walking towards the living room where Alexandra sat babbling on her new playmat with me next to her. She came in the room and kissed me and then Alexandra.
"I love you both and I'll be home soon alright?" she said.
Alexandra babbled a sound of disapproval that her mother was leaving for work. I picked her up and held her close to my chest. She cooed and snuggled into my neck, much like how her mother does.
"Have fun darling," I said, "save lives, alright?"
She smiled and nodded her head to this. She came closer and gave the two of us a big hug. Alexandra cooed again, feeling the love resonate between all three of us.
"I still can't believe we were so lucky to get her." Ana said. I smiled and kissed her. I put Alexandra down and walked with Ana to the door. We exchanged smiles, another kiss and then she walked out the door.
I walked back into the living room looked back down at my beautiful Alexandra. She was still cooing adorably and looking up at me.
"Its nap time Alexandra." I said after she rubbed her eyes and yawned loudly.
I chuckled slightly and then picked her back up. I brought her upstairs into the bedroom and put her in the crib in our bedroom where she fell almost instantly asleep. I smiled and wondered who thought I deserved a beautiful little girl like Alexandra. I walked out of the room and closed the door behind me. I walked down the stairs and turned into the kitchen to grab some Infinity, the best damn drink in the whole world. I took one out of the freezer and cracked it open. It was a neon green color and for a drink, it was beautiful. I took a drink. I turned around after this drink, and it was standing there. Ten years after those notes, and it had shown its face again. It scared me at first and I sort of jumped in surprise.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" I said quietly.
I don't know what I expected, for they never had responded with words before.
"Viktor, you've been so blind." it said.
I was astounded. It could talk.
