A man and woman stand by,
Cigarette and water bottle,
The man offers it to the woman
She declines, sitting down nearby
He's blonde, she's brunette
An unlikely pair
He smokes and drinks,
She learns and repeats.
She asks how he is,
A soft smile on her lips,
He shrugs and responds,
Filling the vacancy next to her
Her smile falters,
Setting the bottle down
Wrapping an arm around him
Without even a sound
They exchange a few words,
Standing up from their spots,
Dabbing out the cigarette,
And grabbing the bottle.
As they headed inside
To visit his cat,
Two cars whizzed by
Without even a care.
