She stood there,
Eyes uncaring,
Cold and distant
Smile warm,
Fire through her veins
Tragedy was her name
Creased and faded,
Stained with salt
And yet she stood,
Through wind and storm,
And fog of Hell
She stood.
Hurricane mind
Collapse within
Before the walls give way
Rebuild the ruins
And there she stood again
Courage her song,
Strength her blood,
Wisdom her soul,
And tragedy her name.04/26/2017
