Everything in Between

Chapter 2

            

I was practically jogging on my way home, it's late November and temperatures are dropping in NYC. The city looks incredible at night during this season so I don't complain much about it. I reached our residential building and immediately spotted Henry. "Good day Henry, how are you?" I smiled brightly at our doorman.

"Good day Anna, very well thank you dear. How about you?" he asked and returned my smile.

"Very good thank you," he opened the glass door for me, "I'll see you later!" and with that I entered the building.

I greeted the staff while making my way to the elevators, once I reached them I pushed the button and waited patiently with my bags. The elevator doors opened and I went in and pushed the button to our floor. While the elevator was moving I reached for my book bag to grab the keys to our penthouse. The elevator stopped and the doors opened, I grabbed my bags and went to our door. I unlocked it and entered the apartment, "I'm home!" I announced in case someone heard the door. I was walking to my room when my mother rounded the corner, I was a bit surprised to see her, it was a bit early and she usually stays until seven at work. "Oh! Hi mom, how are you?" I gave her a peck on the cheek since I couldn't hug her, I was still dirty from practice. 

She smiled at me, "Great sweetie, thank you. How was practice?"

"It went well, thanks. It's almost six, you're home early. Everything good?" I asked softly.

She laughed slightly, "Yes sweetie, I just came home early to get ready for the party tonight. Which reminds me, we'll be leaving at eight. Go take a shower and get ready okay?" she cupped my cheek with one of her hands.

I smiled up at her, "Oh, okay perfect! I'll take a shower and get ready, I'll be in my room if you need anything."

"Do you know what you'll be wearing?" I heard her asking from behind.

I debated on it, "Not sure yet, I'll decide in a bit." I reached my door and pushed it open. I settled my bags near the desk and went to close and lock my door in case someone wanted to barge in while I'm taking a shower.

I slipped off my cleats and went into the bathroom, I closed the door and removed all of my clothes. I got into the shower and let the hot water run. It took about thirty minutes to wash my hair and removed all the dirt stains from practice. I quickly blow-dried my hair to avoid having it dripping the floor and then I wrapped myself with the towel. I opened the bathroom door and headed to my walk-in closet to grab my underwear and chose what to wear.  I had many options to choose from but I always ended up glancing at the little black dress Emma suggested. I grabbed the dress from the rack and took a good look at it; I'll be in a room full of married adults so they won't be ogling at my breasts will they? I did feel confident in it, which is something I'll need once I'm there since I won't have anyone to talk to besides my family. Well Emma, looks like you'll be happy about my choice of outfit.

I searched for heels to pair with the dress and decided to wear black and copper heeled sandals. Then I went to my underwear drawer, the bikini panties I usually wear didn't feel right to wear with this dress. A black lace cheekster panty caught my attention from the unused section of my underwear. Well I'm already taking a risk with the dress, might as well wear sexy underwear to match. Not that anyone will notice, it's not like I'm planning on hooking up with someone. At my eighteen years of age I haven't had my first kiss and therefore I'm still a virgin. I attend high school parties and guys hit a lot on me but I've never met someone that actually caught my attention that wanted to kiss me. I've crushed on guys of course but I never really did anything to make the attraction known to them. I guess I'm too shy and haven't had enough courage to risk telling them. When I do meet someone that really matters to me I'll take a chance but until then I'll let things flow in their own direction.
