Sebastian's POV
She stays seated still, to others around the table she must seem calm. Her hands resting on her lap give her away; she's fidgeting as she keeps her eyes focused on them. Since I'm sitting to her left I'm the only one who can see her hands. Her nervousness makes me smile, she almost looks guilty.
After our heated exchange we decided to come back to the party. We found our parents and some other friends seated at our table so we joined them. I didn't miss the blush that creped onto Anna's face when she saw her parents. I suppose she was afraid they might figure out what had happened. I wouldn't mind asking her parents for permission to take her out on a date but considering our age difference I suppose we might have to wait. I shake my head at my foolish thoughts, why would she want to date me? She's young, beautiful and I know for a fact she's very bright. Her family speaks very proudly of her accomplishments but I had never met her. After tonight I wish I had met her long ago.
She's such a sweetheart but there's also that feisty side to her. Although there was a moment tonight that I can't forget. The way she reacted when she saw Christian. She wasn't able to convince me that something didn't happen between them. I have a terrible feeling about it but I couldn't push her for more information. We just met and I can't expect her to share something if she's not ready. I'll keep a close eye on Christian from now on. I have the means to pry into his privacy but I won't do it. For Anna's sake I'll wait until she's ready to convey that information with me.
Her beauty won't allow me to take my eyes off her. When her blue eyes turn to look at me she gifts me a shy smile and I can feel my heart melt at the sight. She tucks a light-brown lock of hair behind her ear as she turns to look somewhere else that isn't me. I chuckle softly at her shy manner and a blush tints her cheeks.
I check my watch to see the time and realize it's almost one in the morning. The guests will start to leave soon and so will the Sinclair's. I wish I could come up with some excuse to keep her here with me; unfortunately, I can't think of anything. I want to ask her out but we would most likely run into someone I know and I don't want her to feel uncomfortable.
Her delicate voice snaps me out of my reverie, "So," she pauses briefly, "do you like movies or books?" she asks still playing with her hands on her lap.
I smile, "I'd say both. You?" I move my hand to stop her from fidgeting and she turns to look at me.
She exhales softly and smiles, "Both as well," she replies.
Annabelle is completely different to the women I've dated before. I want to get to know her better and I will if she allows me. I get lost in her eyes, "Anna?" my voice came out huskier than I intended.
Her breathing becomes slower as she blushes, "Yes?" she whispers.
My hand is still on hers and I give it a gentle squeeze to reassure her, "Would you like to spend tomorrow afternoon with me? I would like to invite you over to eat and watch movies if you agree."
Her lips part and a barely audible gasp comes out of them. Her eyes looked troubled but I can tell she's considering my offer. I see her swallow before she answers, "I-I, well-um my mom would ask a lot of questions if I asked her to drop me off at your house," she explains as she tries to avoid my gaze.
I chuckle softly and give her hand another squeeze, "I would like to ask for their permission but I'm not sure how you would feel about it."
Her eyes widen and she shakes her head slightly, "No, I don't think that would be a good idea. My parents love you dearly and my brother would probably kill you if he found out." She looks around avoiding me.
