It's dark. I can't see. It hurts but body won't move. I cry out feeling something enter my eye socket. A tool? Maybe even a finger?
"Don't squirm so much Jasper" An annoyed voice hushes me placing his finger over my mouth.
"Come now, it's my first visit if you react like this every time..." He trails off clearly busy with his operation. He pulls down a little causing me to whimper groaning in pain my body trying to curl up.
"I'm just placing the new eye in, calm down now" his voice is calm and I try to push his body away, not being able to see, knowing now that he's removed one of my eyes. The object does another circle in the socket as if making sure whatever he was about to place there fit.
"Who...?!" I cry out still struggling. "Why are you--?" I gasp but I cry out in pain as something is shoved into the empty socket. My back arches as tears escape the one eye I still have. I scream feeling a burning sensation in the back of my head. My ears ringing hoping this nightmare will come to an end.
"Each time I visit you I'll replace something of yours, until you can no longer live as you are" His words echo in my head as my brain begins to blank and my body numbs as I return to my state of sleep.
I bolt up pulling my covers off and jumping off my bed. I look up at my hands shaky and a queasy feeling rooting itself in my stomach. I move to the bathroom looking myself in the mirror. Nothing's different. The aching in the back of my head still ringing and last night's nightmare causes me to shudder. I grip my head kneeling onto the floor. What the hell. Another one. The first dream I had been told that I had been found and that my symptoms would be cured.
"Erin!~" My mother calls and I shake my head and move back into my room.
"Yeah I'm up" I shout grabbing a sweater and a pair of black corderal pants. I get changed waiting for her response.
"You're going to the library right?!" She hollers obviously from the bottom of the staircase now.
"Yeah, I'm going to return a few books and then I'm going to look for a new one to read" I shout now packing my beg getting ready for my 'relax day'.
"Ok just be home before 11:00 PM" she says more quietly.
I run down the staircase with my bag on my back, my curly red hair flowing past my cheeks. I grab a half eaten sandwich from the fridge and leave the house.
"Jasper" My eyes widen as a pair of hands wrap around my waist. I turn around looking for someone anyone. No one. I close the gate that leads to my house and walk down the street.
My names not Jasper, it's Erin, so this whole weird whispering thing is just dumb. I sigh taking another bite out of my sandwich enjoying the taste of ham and cheese. My mom does make a wicked ham'n cheese sandwich. I stop at the bus stop waiting with the crowd until the bus arrives and we all climb on.
"Good day Erin, how are you?" I turn over to my left seeing my friend Kyle.
"Not bad, how'bout you?" I ask and he shakes his head.
"You're lying to me" he says poking my brow. "You had another nightmare again haven't you?" he asks and sigh.
"Man it felt so weird, I had my eye replaced!" I shout my body tensing "It hurt man!" I say and he chuckles. //NEXT STOP CENTRAL LIBRARY// the bus blares coming to a slow halt. Kyle and I get off looking at the huge library.
"It must be nice getting this off your chest right?" he asks and I nod. It is nice, nice to have someone like Kyle who understands me so well.
"The weirdest part is that The person referred to me as Jasper again" I say stopping a little. "I am not Jasper, I'm Erin! Right?" I says obviously not sleeping well last night. We open the door of entering the lobby of the library as I get my beg ready for returning my books.
