Hey everyone! I am so sorry for making you guys wait this long for this chapter. I was going through a serious writers block & then the fall semester started. However things for this story have changed. This will no longer be a two-shot. Instead this will have 4 chapters; 1 & 2 will be a two parter. Reason for that is because I didn't want the first chapter to be utterly long. Plus I have a new idea for the final chapter that I'm debating on using. Anyway I hope you all enjoy this chapter! Please comment what you guys think!

Six days. That's how much time was left. Just six days until radiation engulfed the planet. Skaikru called it the "Death Wave" while the Grounders called it "Praimafaya". Regardless of its name, the end result was going to be the same. Any unfortunate soul exposed to it, whether they'd be Grounders or Skaikru, would perish quickly. The only pain they'd experience is their flesh being melted away as they die. It would be at least five years before anyone could step foot on the surface again. It's ironic when you really think about it. Nearly 100 years ago the Earth experienced the same fate. The only difference is the remainder of humanity fled to space the first time. Now though, going to the stars above to wait it out wasn't an option; there are no power plants to help hold the radiation in. All there is going to be is death and there is no stopping it. Just when all hope seemed lost, Jaha discovered a miracle.

While everyone focused on transforming the ark and creating nightblood, Jaha searched for what he believed to be humanity's salvation. He found it in the form of a bunker hidden within Polis. The bunker was created by a cult capable of sheltering over 1,200 people from the radiation. The only issue was that every single clan wanted to claim it for their people. Clarke tried settling the issue by becoming the next commander, so everyone would follow behind her and live peacefully in the bunker. Of course, both Roan and Abby interfered by revealing how Clarke became a nightblood. With very little options left, Roan suggested what no one expected: a conclave. One final conclave to determine who gets to live in the bunker. Each clan would choose a warrior to represent their respective people. The final victor would win their clan's right to live in the bunker, leaving the death wave to kill everyone else. Shockingly, every clan agreed to the suggestion and began choosing their champions with the conclave set just four days before Praimafaya. While every clan arrived at Polis for the conclave, one person remained absent: Raven Reyes. She wasn't even at Arkadia getting drunk with Jasper and those who stayed behind to celebrate their impending death. Instead, she was in Becca's lab spending what little time she had left preparing her space suit.

Raven was dying. Her brain was slowly deteriorating, a condition brought on by the remnants of Alie's chip being stuck inside. She suffered habitual headaches, hallucinations, and worsening seizures. The symptoms didn't present themselves until Raven was in Becca's lab when she dreamt of space walking. In reality, she was experiencing a seizure because her brain couldn't process everything so quickly. Once Abby and Jackson stabilized her, they ran a CT scan of Raven's brain. The scan revealed a dark spot within her brain and Jackson realized Raven suffered from a stroke. Abby urged Raven to be cautious about the situation. The harder Raven used her brain, the worse her condition became. Of course, Raven refused to listen, saying that she's not going to survive just to watch everyone else die. With her mind made up, Raven was willing to sacrifice her life to save her friends and humanity from extinction.

Weeks passed as Raven's condition steadily worsened. Her seizures occurred frequently as she continued pushing her brain beyond its limits. The latest CT scan indicated she had only three days left before her brain shut down completely. Not that it mattered anyway; by then she was going to be experiencing her last spacewalk. It was an idea that was suggested and strongly encouraged by Raven's hallucination of Becca. Falling under Becca's influence, Raven worked tirelessly on perfecting Becca's old space suit. She stopped for a moment when Murphy told her it was time to leave for Polis. Murphy was shocked when Raven said she wasn't going to Polis with the others. Raven explained that she was beyond saving and she couldn't bear to continue living her life in constant pain. Deep down, Murphy understood Raven's decision and he apologized for his involvement. Raven forgave Murphy and said to tell the others that she floated herself if they ask what happened to her. Once Murphy along with the others left the lab, she went back to working on the suit.

Raven didn't know how much time passed after everyone left. She was too focused on the nearly completed suit to acknowledge the echoing footsteps approaching her. Behind Raven stood Luna, watching in amazement and sadness as the brunette mechanic worked. Luna was in Polis when she overheard Murphy tell Kane and the others about Raven's plan. She refused believe what Murphy said. Even after seeing the solemn looks from them all, Luna still didn't believe it. She left for Becca's lab not long after. She needed to see it for herself. The journey took a few hours and by the time she arrived the sun was starting to set.

Luna silently watched Raven for a few moments before finally speaking, "Raven?" It was quiet, but audible. Her tone was heavy with sorrow. She couldn't begin fathom why Raven would want to do such a wild act. Regardless, she was determined to find out. Noticing that Raven was still working, Luna spoke again. "Raven," she said again, this time her voice calmer and firmer.

The sound of her name, startled Raven and she realized she was no longer alone. She slowly turned around, her eyes widening when she saw Luna standing in front of her. "L-Luna!?" Raven said staring in disbelief. Raven slowly stepped towards Luna, only to stop moments later. 'How is she here right now? She's supposed to be in Polis with the others,' Raven thought. Raven suddenly started to back away as the seeds of doubt clouded her mind.

Luna grew concerned when Raven made her retreat. She slowly advanced towards the mechanic, "Raven, what's wrong?" Luna implored. This only caused Raven to withdraw further, still mumbling to herself. By now the two were a few feet away from each other. Luna managed to make out what Raven was mumbling, "You're not real...you're not real." Puzzled and concerned even more Luna tried reaching out to Raven. She slowly extended her arm out towards her.

Raven took notice and attempted to back away only to stumble over one of the cords. Luna rushed over, catching Raven just before she was about to collapse on the floor. Raven started panicking at Luna's touch and tried escaping. "NO! LET ME GO!" Raven shouted, trying to free herself as Luna held her tight.

By now Luna's arms carefully wrapped around Raven's surprisingly athletic frame. Their cheeks lightly pressed against each other as Luna gently caressed Raven's left arm. Luna felt a brief sense of deja vu holding onto Raven. It was when Raven had a meltdown and started attacking Murphy. The only person that managed to stop Raven before the situation escalated any further was Luna. Knowing what to say Luna softly whispered into Raven's ear, "Ai giv ai op gon nemiyon kom lanik-de."

It didn't take long for Raven to stop resisting when she heard Luna's soothing words. Just like before Raven spoke in sync with Luna, "I give myself to the miracle of the sea." The tension in Raven's body slowly evaporated in the process. The next few minutes were in silence as the two sat on the floor in each other's arms. The only sound filling the void was Luna's gentle humming as she held onto Raven.

Raven slowly came to her senses not long after. She glanced around realizing she was still in Becca's lab; that's when she felt Luna's arms wrapped around her firm and fit frame. Her ears pricked up at the sound of Luna's humming and she glanced up. Raven's eyes widened when she saw Luna resting her head next to her own. She was amazed at how peaceful Luna looked as she hummed. Raven couldn't help but wonder how someone could be so content knowing the world was going to end in a matter of days.

Raven's musing was halted when Luna spoke, "You shouldn't stare Raven. It's rude." Luna's amused tone took Raven by surprise. Luna's eyes opened revealing her clear rich sienna irises. She glanced down only let out a gentle laugh seeing the blush form on Raven's cheeks.

Raven's blush grew further when she heard Luna's angelic laugh. "I-I wasn't staring," she stuttered and quickly looked away as Luna continued laughing. Raven looked over and saw her suit, hastily remembering her mission. She spoke again immediately changing the subject, "Luna, can help me up? I have work to do."

Luna stopped laughing when she heard Raven's request. Her smile faded into a frown when she heard the unease in Raven's voice. Luna wanted to protest knowing what Raven meant by work, but something inside told her not to. Instead she carefully stood up, helping Raven along the way. Once Raven was on her feet she made her way to the suit and continued working.

Luna could only watch as Raven tinkered with the suit muttering calculations to herself. It pained Luna to see Raven like this. Luna switched her focus onto Raven's eyes. Those rich almond chocolate irises were something that Luna came to admire with such endearment. If you looked into them long enough, you could see the story they told. Regrettably Luna didn't know Raven that well or the life she led on the ark. A life filled with pain, loss, and sorrow was a life no one deserves to live. Luna looked past that and saw Raven for who she really was: a fighter. She was a fighter with fiery sense of determination and selflessness in her heart. She took her pain and despair and transformed herself into who she is today. What Luna didn't understand is why someone as strong and beautiful like Raven would want to die in the vacuum of space.

The question raced through Luna's mind the longer she watched Raven prepare to end her life. She grew more agitated with every passing minute. 'You shouldn't be doing this Raven,' she thought. Luna's eyes widened in horror when she heard her voice echo throughout the lab.

Raven looked over when she heard Luna and saw the shocked expression on the night blood's face. "Excuse me!?" Raven exclaimed furrowing her eyebrows. She crossed her arms and continued in a vexed tone, "Do you have any idea what I'm doing Luna?"

Even at a distance Luna could sense the anger from Raven's glare. She felt her heart pounding, unsure of how to answer. Luna diverged her gaze onto the suit only to frown when she saw it. The suit itself appeared bulky in some areas, especially in the back. Most of the suit was white, except for the left shoulder, which was red. Small portions of the arms and a majority of the right leg were covered with bolted on scraps of metal. The mere thought of Raven dying wearing that suit felt like a knife being plunged into Luna's heart. Tears glossed over her eyes when she thought of this.

Like all the other night bloods Luna was taught that to be the commander, is to be alone. Luna never truly understood this. She always believed that love is what made everyone human. Even Lexa understood this when she was commander. Despite not showing it, Luna was shocked when Clarke told her of Lexa's passing. The last time either of them saw each other was before Luna fled from the conclave. When Clarke said, "Lexa was special," Luna saw the pain in Clarke's eyes. It was clear the two loved each other, only to be tragically separated by death in the end. It was identical to the current situation between Luna and Raven. The only difference is Luna was terrified to admit how she felt for the mechanic.

Luna couldn't pinpoint when she realized her feelings for Raven. Even so, that didn't stop her heart from yearning to be with the mechanic. Luna often dreamt of a life with Raven isolated from the bloody madness they live in. A life where Raven could be happy without having to live in constant pain. This was the dream Luna always wanted, but she had to look at the reality. Paimafaya was closing in at an alarming rate. Raven was heading to space leaving her friends behind and Luna with a broken heart.

Her morbid thoughts brought tears to her eyes. Raven's anger ebbed into concern when she noticed the tears. "Luna," she said while limping toward her.

Raven only saw Luna cry once, back at Arkadia just days after Alie had been shut down. Luna was accompanied by Nyko and a few of her people. They were diagnosed with Acute Radiation Syndrome, which was brought on by the consumption of radiated fish. Within hours, most of them succumbed to the illness. The only three remaining were Luna, Nyko, and a little girl named Adria. Adria passed away shortly after in Luna's arms. Luna gently whispered into Adria's ear as the child took her final raspy breaths. Instantaneously, after Adria's death Luna broke down still holding onto her corpse. Tears flooded Raven's eyes when she witnessed the tragic moment. Raven blamed herself for Adria's death despite being told otherwise. She wouldn't allow Abby to give Adria the necessary medication. Even after Murphy stole it from behind Raven's back, it didn't matter in the end. Raven never told Luna, out of fear she'd never be forgiven.

Once she was near, Raven gently took Luna's hand and locked their fingers together. The motion broke Luna's trance, and she looked over seeing Raven frown. Their dark brown irises met, and Luna could see the concern within Raven's gaze. "Luna...did I do something?" Raven asked.

Luna didn't say anything while trying to process Raven's question. She eyed the suit again for a brief moment before looking down. Looking at the suit made Luna want to lash out at Raven for her selfishness. She wanted to scream and shout her frustration until her throat was raw and her voice was hoarse. Deep down Luna's lack of courage was holding her back from doing just that. It was the main reason why Luna never confessed her feelings to Raven. Every opportunity Luna saw ended with her cowering away in fear. It's ironic really, Luna was the one of the fiercest warriors, yet she couldn't even look at Raven without being mesmerized by her beauty. Luna hated herself for being such a coward. 'Even If I told Raven now it probably wouldn't matter.' Luna thought to herself. She knew Raven would still choose to abandon those who care about her just to die alone.

Raven spoke again breaking Luna from her thoughts, "Luna talk to me. Don't shut me out like this!" Luna looked up when Raven asked. Luna was confused by Raven's words. Before Luna could register her actions, she released her hand from Raven's. "Don't...don't pretend to care," Luna said harshly while stepping away from Raven.

Raven stood there stunned by Luna's response. "Luna...what are you talking about?" she stammered. Raven slowly extended her hand out towards Luna trying to console her. Luna noticed and turned away, crossing her arms. Raven frowned at Luna's rejection and quickly recoiled her hand.

The two stood in silence for what seemed like hours. Only the faint hum of the labs' machinery filled the void. Luna's back faced Raven to hide the anger and grief written upon her face. Raven meanwhile stood perplexed by Luna's sudden change in behavior. An overwhelming sense of uncertainty coursed through her body as her eyes shifted toward her suit. Raven's mind and heart were at war with one another; Luna was at the center of it.

A stern voice spoke breaking Raven from her sorrowful thoughts, "Raven." The voice was tense with disappointment. Raven's eyes widened in disbelief recognizing the voice immediately. What is she doing here, Raven asked herself before looking toward the direction the voice came from.

Behind Raven a mere several yards away stood the hallucination of Becca Premheda. Her attire remained the same as the last time Raven saw her. Becca smirked lightly raising an eyebrow before making her way toward the suit. "Shouldn't you be working?" Becca mused, looking back towards Raven.
