Chapter Eight

Six days later & Five days before the Coronation

Beatrice was hurrying down the halls as others bustled about, she knew what she was doing was against her regulations but no one deserves to suffer like He is. It reminded her of memories of the previous head mistresses and maids.

~Beatrice and Mike's past~

She remembered when the prince died and the humans had defeated all the monsters descending them to the undergrounds. Ever since that day the undergrounds was in the state of a great depression, everyone had felt miserable especially the King and Queen.

During the undergrounds great depression Beatrice had no choice but to work as maid in the castle for the Dreemur family. She had to work there for it was either that or starving to death and she really didn't want to die at such a young age. Payment was rough for she was given so little at the time but she took what ever she was given and saved ever single gold coin that fell into her lap.

As time went by Beatrice's work was growing to be much easier since she was promoted to being the King's personal maid. As for the Queen, well she didn't stay to hear such news for she had left when the King proposed a new underground order. Once the Queen had left 20% out of the 50 maids who worked at the castle had tried to bed themselves with the King and none were successful.

Some were surprised the King let the Queen go after the way he plays his persona so well and the way he behaves.

When word got around that she became a personal maid to the King the maids didn't take this lightly and harassed her. The head maid was given word of it but had done nothing to stop it for she too had envied the poor avian. But she wasn't alone for she had Mike, he was a kindhearted goat monster and no one could ever be compared to him.Mike has lovely pair of brownish red eyes, clean chocolaty mixed creme fur, and sharped curved horns.

Mike was born with a family in the castle staff so him working as head butler wasn't inevitable, but that didn't prevent him from learning. He grew to be book smart and castle smart for he knew every secret nook an' cranny to either hide or play mind joke on others. Time went by and he became friends with all the staff members, he knew somewhat of guards hourly shifts, he might as well be deemed as an assassin.

As Mike grew he ran into Beatrice getting harassed by the other maids, he came to her aid and protected her which she was really thankful for. Ever since that day they've become best of friends, Mike was the flaming shield and Beatrice was the winged sword of justice. Both were kindhearted but trained to their hearts content, their training had made them elite servants and almost better than Mettaton/Undyne.

So whenever the guards became useless the duo would take care of the problem in secret and only their friends. Over the years the monsters had met seven humans who have been friendly while some have been a little threatening, but those humans didn't last too long for one by one their souls had taken

~Beatrice and Mike's past over~

Beatrice had ran over to where Mike was having a nice conversation with some of the maids and grabbed him pulling him away. "Sorry ladies will have speak of this another time!" He yelled as Beatrice dragged him off to the library, "I hope you didn't forget the meeting Alpha and Chara had set for us an' the others," She grumbled walking as her shoes made light clacking sound.

"I'm sorry I was busy, besides I'm not used to such private meeting especially with Her..." he said in frightened manner as his ears flopped down. "Hey! She's our-well my friend so don't. And remember Chara will attend so don't feed him a new weakness." She warned him as her wing jabbed him.

Both slowly opened the door to the royal library to see a gentleman standing on a crystal placing books back, his light blue eyes pierced them as if he thought they were a threat. "Well don't just stand there! Now hurry and come inside the others aren't here yet." He said as he turned away from the duo and entered the depths of the library.
