Tony's POV
--
"I searched Petty Officer Leanne's Log. There was an unknown number she answered multiple times." Mcgee reported.
"And this unknown number guy, is Marlon Ables. Thirty-two, born on April 6, 1982. No relationship status. He has a criminal record for driving at excessive speed." I continued.
"And... Lieutenant Arthur's address is in 142 B Street in West Virginia..." Bishop finished.
"Bishop, Mcgee. Go, Lieutenant Arthur and question." Gibbs demanded.
Mcgee and Bishop packed up and went to the elevator.
"I'm going to Abby..." Gibbs mumbled to himself. But I was able to hear.
Now. I think I'm alone now. I looked around to see other people working. What am I going to do here? I have no choice but to go downstairs.
--
I headed to the area where there are Vending Machines. After I got my snack, I turned around and leaned.
"There you are! Are you looking at more 'homely' pictures?" she joked. I quickly hid the photos in my bag and sighed.
"Are you alright, Tony?" she asked with concern. I looked into her eyes and asked, "Can I show you something?"
"Yes."
I got the photos out of my bag and handed her the photos. She saw the young me and my mother.
"Is this your mother?
"Yes."
"Wow. She was... she was beautiful." she complimented.
"Oh. I guess she was."
"How come you never talk about her?" she asked.
"I don't?" I purposely asked.
"No," she shook her head, "No you don't."
"Hmm.. Well... I guess... she was the first woman to break my heart, and I don't like to talk about things like that." I explained.
"You don't like to talk about it because you don't want to. Maybe it causes too much pain." she clarified. I was drifting off.
"So she was the one who took you to the movies?"
"Yeah. We would go to this dollar machine, make these weekend trips into the city. There was this theater that she loved over on 42nd street," I chuckled, "Pretty run down, but she loved movies. And... uh.. I think she loved..." I paused for a second, "The escape. This is the last movie we ever saw together. Right before she..." I didn't continue to say the word.
As I look at Ziva, she was really listening briefly.
"The Little Prince." I added. She looked at me very deeply.
"'That which is essential is invisible to the eye.'" she quoted. I was surprised.
"Ziva David, did you just quote a movie?"
"No. I quoted a book... that was made into a movie."
I nodded as we stared. She chuckled one last time.
Reminds me. Ziva was the one who saw the face of my mother. She was special. To me. I was so open to her that time. As I looked into her eyes, there was sympathy, and there was joy.
After I left her in that airport, my heart sunk. There was hesitation.
"At Lo Levad."
