"So what happens now?"
"Well, I'm guessing we have to wait."

Zero and his friend Aldair were testing a project for science. They were studying the cycles of life for different living beings.

"Zero, I don't think this is going to work."
"Well good, you made your prediction."

Aldair let out a small sigh, then stared closely at the dead bird laying on their experimenting table.

"I know you miss her, but there's no way it's possible-"

Zero slammed a fist on the table. Everything immediately fell silent. Aldair cautiously put his hand on Zero's shoulder.

"Come on, we should rest."

They left their little treehouse and went into the house. They shared Zero's bed that night, but neither really spoke to the other that night. Zero felt bad for his sudden burst earlier and hated their tension.

"Aldair..? You still awake?"

There was some shifting with the blankets before Aldair answered.

"Yeah, I'm awake. What's wrong?"
"I'm really sorry about earlier, I didn't mean to-"
"- It's fine. I understand how much you miss Octavia."
"I'm still sorry..."

Zero blushed softly as he could feel Aldair's warm breath against his face.

"A-Aldair..."
"Yeah?"
"You're a bit close, don't you think?..."
"I don't think so..."

Aldair suddenly pressed his lips up against Zero's.
