Harvard, Debutantes and Debauchery

Follows season 2 storylines.   Amelia is now 14.  She is dating Jensen, as much as a 14&15 year old would.  Rory and Dean are together.  Lorelai and Max are getting married. 

Lorelai wakes up Amelia at 5am the day of the wedding. 

Lorelai: "Amelia.  Amelia! Sweetie come on wake up!"

Amelia: "Mom? What's wrong?

Lorelai: "Pack! Rory's waiting downstairs"

Amelia: "Pack? Pack what? What's going on?"

Lorelai: "kid c'mon we have to get going!"

Amelia sits up.  Still groggy she stands next to the bed. 

Amelia: "mom! Seriously where are we going? You're getting married today!"

Lorelai gives Amelia a sad stare. 

Amelia: "Oh.  Ok. Ummm but you can't just runaway.  Max is a nice guy.  Jeez mom! I liked Max!"

Lorelai: "Amelia.  I need you to trust me right now.  We will talk about this but right now I need you to pack a bag.  Ok?" Her words choppy holding back tears. 

Amelia: "this is crazy" she is also holding back tears.  She was slow to warm up to Max but Amelia became really close with Max.  He spent a lot of time helping her with her advanced classes, introducing her to new music and talking to her about whatever she wanted. 

Lorelai: "It really is... pack light layers"

Amelia finishes packing her things.  She grabs her headphone and her MacBook and heads downstairs where she, Lorelai and Rory pack up the Jeep and head out of town.  They drive for awhile until they make a stop at a rest area.  Amelia had gone back to sleep and wakes up when the Jeep stops. 

Rory: "Mom.  As fun as this trip has been this morning, where are we going?"

Lorelai: "Wherever the music takes us kitten" she turns on the radio to a Country music station.  "ok not that music!"

Rory: "Mom really where are we going?"

Lorelai: "Well hand over that map you've been hiding." She gestures at Rory. 

Amelia: "Mooom where are we going?" She whines. 

Lorelai opens up the map of New England  

Lorelai: "Oh hey there sleeping beauty!"

Amelia yawns and leans forward to the front seat.  Rory starts naming various places and suddenly Lorelai knows where they are going to go.  Harvard.  She doesn't tell the girls.  They stop at a bed and breakfast on the way. 

Amelia: "Mom it's getting dark are we stopping soon. I need fooood!"

Lorelai: "aw babe There's a KitKat my purse.  We will stop soon"

Amelia grabs and splits the KitKat with Rory who now that Amelia said she was hungry so was the entire car. 

The girls arrive at the B&B the Cheshire Cat.

Lorelai: "We're here!"

Amelia: "There's no way I'm going in there" she points to the pink and blue B&B. 

Rory: "C'mom Em" she laughs "Mom knows the owner it'll be ok"

After about a half hour of convincing Amelia the girls go inside only to discover the new ownership.  Lorelai and Amelia want to leave but Rory, the voice of reason, convinces the girls to stay. They check in and go to their room.  They put their things down and head downstairs to discover all the B&B'ers.  No one is in any mood to chat so they go back to the room.  They realize they have no food.
