The Midnight Glow

The Lion's Hunt...

She closed her eyes and murmured a quick prayer...every time he got a mouthful of his killed prey, the lion kept staring at her with her blade in her hand. He finally stood up. Erica was never more silent than she had been now. She was looking around to see if there was anything in the forest that could help her.

Erica sees a close tree...yet it's filled with bats all upside-down along the tree branches. Right then, she had thought of something that could help her flee. As soon as she could, she flicks the blade open, and throws it on the right point of the tree so that she could scare away the bats and make them fly to the smell of the meat of the prey. And to that point, Erica can make the lion leave her alone for a short mount of time.

She tries not to waste the time she's hardly given and gratefully finds a mud puddle to cover herself with. And for the lion to barely smell her scent. She quickly takes the cue and runs as hard as she can, leaving drops of mud along the way. Unfortunately, the lion will most likely follow her. But...after he ate up all his meat, of course. She kept running in the forest and after a while, she was panting. Then stays at her own pace.

Let's jump to the others...I'll explain later on.

**two boys and two girls appear out with bullets and weapons for protection and they do not know about the lion**

"Yo Jen! Where you takin' us, man?" The guy asks Jen. "You just follow me, Ray." Jen says. "Stop for a minute...this isn't a game, dude. This damn forest is dangerous. Who do ya think you are to bring us here jus like that??" Ray asks in a serious tone. Yet Jen ignores. "Okay you two, enough with the damn arguing. This is serious." Laurin jumps in. "Yeah, we've come here just to find the three dumbasses. We need to do this asap! We've got no time to lose!" Karen replies. And she is right. These four people came from a city near by. And some kinda boss teamed trainees up into four. And any team who finds those three others, they will get a grand prize from that boss. Over 6 figures!

If anyone could, they would make a fortune. But anyway, so they kept on going...and later after..."guys...did ya hear that sound...? I feel like it came from a lion or something...this way.." Ray said. And they started following him. "I'm hearing it...It's getting closer each time." Says Laurin. "Same here." Karen as well. They walk closer and closer...then they suddenly find the lion Ray heard. "OH MY GOD...I-ITS REALLY A LION...! Please let's go back...we have nothing to do with it...!" Karen said with a really scared look on her face. "Ohmygodohmygodohmygod...!" Karen squeaks. "JUSHUTTUP WILL YA?!" Jen yelled accidentally. He quickly lays his hand on his lips. Unfortunately, the lion heard and turns his enormous face (filled with meat blood) towards them with an angry look. HE STARTS RUNNING AGAIN TO THEM AND JEN YELLS OUT LOUD "GO!!"

Jen tries shooting the lion. And he ends up shooting the lion's right eye. "RRRRRAAAAAWWWWRRRRR!!" The lion rawrs pretty loud, almost every living species can hear. Therefore it ends up with one eye and a creepy looking white eye. They keep running so fast..and Karen accidentally trips. And the others all leave her except Ray. "Aaghh!..." She shouts. "Are you okay, Karen?" He asks rushing. "Yes..." She stands up...but she sprained her ankle. "I think I sprained my ankle...and I can't walk...I don't want you to be eaten by the lion...I'd rather be the one.."Karen said as she kept shedding tears of pain.

And while he was waiting for her to stop, the lion was getting closer to them. Yet two meters away. So he said, "no Karen, I won't leave you! Oh fu! The lion is getting closer to us! Come on you can make it, I promise...here.." Ray picks her up from the ground holding her with his strong arms and ran to them hurriedly.

Then the lion saw him running so he GOES RUNNING AFTER THEM BOTH BUT they found the others in the wooden house that was hidden yet can be seen in a way. "Ray! Karen! Fast! Come in the house!" Jen shouts to them and they go in safely. Although the lion is still following by secretly. Without any doubt. "Oh my God! Karen you okay there??! Let me help...oh my lord, what on earth did you go into?..I mean your ankle injury..." She takes a cloth out of her pocket and takes out the 1st aide kit. And starts cleaning off the blood stains quickly. Then wraps around Karen's ankle with a bandage. Jen looks at Laurin, giving her the gesture to tell them about the little space to hide from the lion. "Karen, Ray. We're gonna have to hide away from the lion and me and Laurin found a small hiding place in the ground floor. It's here.." He said hesitantly while taking off the squared door on the wooden floor. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?" Ray yells. "EEEWWWW there's no way I'm goin' in there!!" Karen said with a disgusted look. You know why? That's because the inside of it is filled with disgusting insects. Spiders, cockroaches..you name it!

"T-they have a point, ya know Jen..." Laurin talks over. "Of course they do! But where in God's name are we gonna hide??!" He yells. "..." She stays quiet. "Exactly, you don't know!" He said. "Man, I ain't goin' there!" Ray says. "You stay quiet Ray. I bet you'd rather get eaten by that lion. We're not even safe in here. You should thank God we found a small fudging house!" He said. "Alright! For how long are we staying there?" He asks. "Depends. Hurry up now, go in." Jen says. And all three of them go inside the downer area, except Jen. "Where are you going Jen ?" Laurin asks. "I need to find this ambitious lion. I need to kill him. He could be a good hunt for us. It's rare to find much lions nowadays...damn the plaque..bye guys stay safe!" He leaves the house looking for the lion. And he suddenly finds it in front of him out of nowhere...obviously because it was literally following the two others.....DO YOU know what will happen? **back to Erica**

While Erica walks fast. She somehow finds the small wooden house that's hidden. The door suddenly opens because it was too windy for a day like this. She steps inside the wooden house as its floor creeks. "What is this place...? Hello..? Does anyone live here..??" She questions with a terrified look on her face. Suddenly out of nowhere...something was knocking on the floor from the bottom of the wooden house..."we're here..please help us..please help us!" They say faintly. "Huh?!...who's that?! W-who's in here...?" She says scared. "Inside here..! Down..! Look down..!" They say faintly again. She tries walking to the right direction, THEN she stands stiff...because she felt the hit from the ground floor. So she looks down. And finds the squared door kinda moving. She tries opening it...and got it a bit opened to the side but then ...she hears the lions rawrs from outside...and stupidly leaves the squared door moved to the side a bit. Erica goes hiding behind the door...the lion walks in...his face was filled with blood. It was licking its huge mouth. He heard something make a squeak...but luckily a rat came and ran away. So that shattered away the lion's attention.

Right then, he was moving around and heard a nock on the floor. "Help!" They say faintly. "Rrraaawwwwrrr!" The lion screams out loud. The three of them didn't know where Jen went or what happened to him...plus the lion that was inside and unfortunately heard their faint screams. The two girls were crying like hell. "W-what if he got eaten by the lion?!""oh my god! It's the lion!" She says as quiet as she can ... "It's moving the lid!" The lion started moving the lid off the floor. He automatically knew where they were from their scent. And while the girl was behind the door, she hears bones cracking and tearing skins apart. Chewing their meat, eating them like crazy. Erica couldn't take any of this...she accidentally made a sound. But quickly covered her mouth with her right hand. And the lion heard her. She prayed, "oh God please don't let it turn to me..." She said worried to death....

....Wishing that this was a dream. She pinches herself to see if it is but it's a real life matter. She cannot escape...if she does he'll eat her up, with bits of bones left behind. The lion sat belly flat to the ground and she accidentally made another squeak..he opens his left eye to see if anyone was there but luckily for her, his right eye was the one Jen shooted at. And the lion can't see prefectly anymore. And that's for her own good....
