"what's on your mind loser?" jeff asked with a smile, "uh nothing is" i said giving him a little smile. "(y/n), i'm really starting to fall for cindy. she's perfect and she's really pretty." jeff said as he bit his lip and looked at the ground trying to hide his blushing.
didn't see that one coming. after all these years, guess i'm still seen as a friend huh. i shook my head, "yeah that's nice" i said with a giggle. "are you okay?" jeff asked looking concerned, "yeah i am" i said while giggling some more, really trying to hide the tears that were forming.
"no seriously, what's wrong (y/n)" he said standing in front of me, "hey we should get to class" i said and walked away.
i enter class and sit down. "where's jeff? i didn't see him this morning" cindy asked in a bitchy way. "we were walking to school together and didn't come early." i said not looking at her and taking my pencil out. "just letting you know, jeff's mine. i see the way you look at him." she whispered close to my ear.
"god, you must be real insecure." i whispered back. "fuck off (y/n)" she said and turned around.

jeff's pov .
(y/n) seems so off. i wish i knew what was going on with her, she barely talks to me about what's on her mind. is this about cindy? i hope it's not.
"woods, are you paying attention?" said mr. carter,
"yes sir, i am" i said looking up, he nodded.
whatever it is, i'll make (y/n) tell me. she's already breaking our promise.

time skip to pe )
i opened up my locker and started taking off my clothes. "whoa, what workouts do you do?! your waist is like, a goddesses" said cassie. "huh? oh ah, i don't do any workouts actually" i said with a nervous laugh, i guess this was a compliment.
"i'm being serious! like seriously what do you do? tell me your secret! you have the body of a model" she said smiling and holding both my hands. "isn't it obvious, the bitch starves herself." said cindy laughing.
"i don't actually, i guess i'm just lucky" i said smiling at her. "chop chop ladies! more dressing and less talking" said ms. betty, our pe teacher.
after dressing, we went into the gym and we are going to play dodge ball. we get into position. "go!" said ms. betty, i ran and got the ball and threw it hard at cindy.
i saw her body fall back, she sat up and she was bleeding from her nose. "oh sorry" i said as i shrugged, "cindy, be careful who you talk shit about next time" cassie said.

after school )
"hey (y/n), wanna start walking home?" jeff said as he walked towards me, "sure" i said with a smile.
"wanna talk about this morning? i'm not letting it go" jeff said as he poked my arm. "jeff really, it's nothing come on" i said groaning.
"jeff!" said a familiar female voice. we turn around and see cindy. "oh hey cindy!" said jeff as he walked up to her, "darling, your crazy friend made me bleed" she said while putting her arms around his neck and giving him that sad puppy look.
"oh suck it up, it's a game cindy" i said crossing my arms. "yeah cin, it's just a game, everybody gets hurts. i'm pretty sure (y/n) didn't mean you harm" jeff said putting his hands around her waist.
the stinging in my heart got worse.
"whatever." cindy said looking down, "i'll leave you two alone" i said as i started walking away.

hours later )
* knock knock *
i turn to my window and pull the curtain, "jeff? what are you doing here at this hour? your moms going to flip her shit if she knows your out right now" i whispered. "she won't find out, but we made a promise and i know somethings up. so you better tell me." jeff insisted. god he was so stubborn.
"you know, you coulda just texted me about this right?" i said crossing my arms. "i knew you weren't going to tell me over text so i came here which means you gotta tell me or else you're a dick for making me walk over here at night" he said with a cheesy smile.
"oh my god, fine" i said giggling, "and if i don't want to?" i said, "nope, you gotta tell me. so tell me, i'm all ears loser" he said smiling and looking into my eyes. i blushed.
"sigh, well i think i'm in love. i mean i feel it, it's a strong feeling that i feel towards that certain person. but i don't think they realize that i love them." i said as i looked down at my hands.
"whoa, who's the lucky guy?" jeff asked, "somebody" i said as i put the strand of my hair that was in my face behind my ear. he nodded, "i understand if you don't wanna tell me, i've been annoying all day, i'll make you keep this one" he said as he looked down.
"i also got great news!" he said, his eyes lit up and he had a big smile. "what's up?" i said, "me and cindy are officially dating. she's my girlfriend!" he said, "oh really? that's cute" i said while looking away.
"ah fuck, i gotta go (y/n). it's getting pretty late but i'll see you tomorrow!" he said as he waved and started walking.
tears started to run down my cheeks. oh my god. he's really dating cindy, i need to let him go. he's just my friend, he'll never see me as anything else. i cried into my pillow for at least 10 minutes.
i walked up to my window, "jeff you idiot, you're the lucky guy!" i yelled. i cried myself to sleep after.
