Fly Before You Fall p.1

Maine only had a few weeks left from her study program at the University. Everything was going as planned, and she was happy to wrap up the remaining time with her course work and finalize all her requirements for graduation. Surprisingly, Richard and her are doing quite well despite the distance. Probably because they spend time studying more than ever, and have scheduled FaceTime sessions. It was pretty much like clockwork.

And Richard, bless his heart, still managed to visit her family. She didn't know how he would do it, but he did it anyway. Not out of obligation, but because he really wanted to build further a relationship with Maine's family.

Some days that she feels homesick and missing him, Richard would surprise her with flower deliveries. One time, Maine was desperately craving for Filipino junk food. Richard sent a small care package of her favorite polvoron, chocolates , mikmik and dried mangoes.

She would feel terribly guilty with the showers of affection from afar, but then Richard would tell her during FaceTime that seeing her smile is enough.

Right now, as Maine was organizing her calendar, she remembered that Richard left for a trip to Hong Kong. His international law class won a spot to debate with an affiliate school, and his team will be there for a week to also attend a special symposium by one of the top International Court of Justice judges.

She sent him a viber message to take care and to let her know that all is well. Maine saw that Richard's last message was before he slept last night.

No reply from Richard.

Maybe he's just busy, Maine thought.

She went to her afternoon classes. As soon as she stepped out of the room, Maine checked her phone.

Still nothing.

Maine was getting uneasy. It was so unlike Richard to not let her know what is going on. Did something happen to him? Is he okay?

Maybe he's just busy with the debate team ?

She scolded herself. Stop it , Maine. He's not supposed to report to you 24/7.

But it had been 15 hours already - wouldn't he have said something anyway?

Maine checked his social media. He barely went on it already, but who knows?

Nothing on Instagram. Nothing on Twitter.

She clicked on her Facebook app and checked her timeline. She scrolled down and saw nothing. She clicked on Richard's Facebook page.

There she saw pictures tagged of him. Pictures in Hong Kong in a seminar, with some of the debate team. Pictures of their group eating. In a karaoke bar.

She stopped at one of the photos. And saw one of Richard in a corner with a girl whose face looked familiar. She clicked on the next photo, where the girl was facing the camera.

Ysa? Why is Ysa in Hong Kong? And why is she with Richard and his friends?

She closed the app and closed her eyes. Her heart beating wildly as she tried to reason to herself on why Richard's first love was with him and his friends overseas.

And I'm back! 😁

I'm so sorry for the lack of updates. It has been a trying month, a mix of good (Maichard! KS sa US in Pasadena! Meeting them briefly asdghggjhkhlhl!!!! ) and bad (hanash in real life, fandom , etc etc) that I can't wait for April to be over. If you follow me on twitter, we had to put down yesterday our 10 yr old Saint Bernard , Blue , as she had been diagnosed with stomach cancer and was not eating anymore, among others. 😔 This happened literally a week after 🔑's comments so .... Grabe lang.  🙃🔪 Gusto ko malunod sa ice cream. Ganyang levels.

However, I wanted to be distracted and writing is helping a bit. So I hope you guys are still around to read this. I know my last update was LONG and kilig. But like all sort of relationships, me bump. So the update is more of that bump.

As for meeting Maichard... I am still at a loss for words. Meeting Maine was really quick . Sya pa yung nag sorry coz she had to go. Medyo nagka slight moment pa with Alden. At englishing kami. Baket? Di ko din alam! 😂 I'm just so happy to see them up close, you know? But I remained calm, actually (yes artista ako , lelz) . I'm glad di ako nagkalat. Coz who knows when I'd see them again, being Team Abroad and all....😊
