Clove POV:

I'm sitting in the Justice Building waiting for my visitors and thinking about Cato. Why did he volunteer? He promised, but so did I. He wouldn't want to go with me. My thoughts are interrupted by someone entering the room. It's Emily. "Thank you for volunteering. I really didn't want to go. Please try to win if you can." she starts crying.

"You know I want to win, but what about Cato? He has to win so he can come home to his favorite little sister." I try to calm her down.

"I forgot about that. Well try to protect him. He told me he was going to protect you. That's why he volunteered." There's the answer to my question.

"I'll try my best to get us both out."

"Promise?"

"Promise" and with that the peacekeeper comes and takes her away. Last time I made a promise, I broke it. But I will not break this promise. I will get us both out. For Emily. Another person comes in and it's my mom.

"Honey, you can do it. You can win. You're amazing at knife throwing and you're really smart." my mom says.

"Yea. I guess. I'll try my best, but what about Cato."

"I already visited him. He said he was gonna let you win and protect you. Stay safe and I love you." my mom stars crying.

"I love you too. I'll we you soon." and with that she's gone. I wish I would've been nicer to my mom. She tries to nice to me. Oh well, too late now because in 2 weeks, I'll be dead and Cato will be coming home. I have one more visitor come in. It's a peacekeeper. Why would a peacekeeper come see me? "Clove, I just wanted to see you one last time. You're probably wondering who this is. Well, do you remember your brother, Justin?" the peacekeeper asks me.

"Yea. He was killed in the 71st Hunger games 3 years ago. I was 12 and he was 18. He was in the final two and the girl from District 1 killed him." I reply suspiciously.

"That's correct, only he didn't die. It was a mistake and the Capitol fixed him up and made him a peacekeeper." This man is really freaking me out.

"How do you know all this? You probably just wanna get to my head so I will die in the arena."

"That's where you're wrong. I know this because you're brother was sent back to District 2. And he happens to be in this room with you right now. He wants to tell you he loves you one last time." The strange peacekeeper starts taking off his helmet. I see the familiar black hair and green eyes. It's Justin. I run into his arms, that I've missed so much, and hug him. I missed him so much. I'm now in tears because I'm so happy.

"You should probably tell mom. She didn't take it well when you 'died.' If I die she'll be even more upset so I need you to comfort mom when I die."

"Try to win. Please I've seen you around town with Cato. Are y'all dating?"

"Yep."

"Oh sis. Well I'll go talk to him and then mom. Please stay safe and try to win. I love you and I wish I could've spent more time with you."

"I love you too. Tell mom I'm sorry I was so mean and that I really do love her." then he's gone. Just like that. I trying process everything that just happen. I volunteered for the games, so did Cato, Emily wants me to win, my mom really does love me, and Justin's alive. It all feels like a dream.
