Promises (A Clato Fanfic)

Chapter 21: Victors

Clove POV:

I wake up in an all white room. I look to my right and see blonde hair. Cato. I remember now. I was running to the cornucopia, being chased by mutts, when i fell. I thought I was gonna die, but someone picked me up and carried me to the cornucopia. I blacked out after that and can't remember what happened. I guess we both won.

I try to get up and walk over to Cato. When I try to get up, all the way from armpit to my hip it hurts really bad. I guess I scream because Cato instantly wakes up and sees me. He comes over to me and says "We did it Clove. We both won." he then hugs me. I don't hesitate to hug back.

"I guess we did. Do you remember what happened in the games?" I ask him.

"Yea. I was looking for you after you killed Katniss and I heard a canon. I guess you did too. I thought it was you and freaked out. I waited a couple hours and I saw something in the bush. I thought it was you, but then the mutts came after me. I started running to the cornucopia and I saw you running too. You fell an the mutt scratched your side. I picked you up and carried you to the cornucopia. You blacked out so I took your knives and killed some of the mutts. When you woke up, they said there could only be one victor. We were gonna kill each other at the same, but when we were about to, they said we both won. I promised you we would get out and we did." Cato tells me. I start to remember the whole thing.

"I'm just glad we both won. We did it. Together." I say.

"Yea, now about that promise you made me on the train, you gonna keep it right?" I don't remember what promise I made.

"What promise?''

"The one where you promised me we would get married if we both got out and we did. We can wait, just promise me you will marry me in the future."

"I promise." I tell him and kiss him. We did it. Together. We went into the arena and we both came out. That's never been done before. I wonder what Snow thinks about all this. He's probably not happy with us. He will not take this lightly. We rebelled against the Capitol. We showed them they aren't that powerful and we both became Victors.
