We got taken to a hospital. Ezra and Harley were checked over and given a birth certificate. Nadine and Casper had to have a couple of jabs and Nadine clung to me crying. I reassured them they were okay and it was to help them. Then we were given a council flat in the middle of the city. We were given directions to our new flat and we were aloud to go. They told us they would come back the next day.
It was weird, as soon as everyone realised that we were British, they were super kind. It was weird.
We reached the block of flats.
"Welcome to your new home kids." Noah said unlocking the door.
It was horrible. The walls were a horrible cream colour and the carpet was the same colour. There was no furniture and there was only one bathroom for all nine of us.
"Whoa." Carter said.
"You know what this means?" Kelly asked.
"What?" We all said.
"Redecorating time!" Kelly said grinning.
There were two envelopes on the grimy kitchen counters. There was £100 food vouchers for the week and £100 to do this place up.
So we did just that. We walked around trying to find a super market. When we did, Noah and Carter grabbed two trollies. Casper, Nadine, Amy, Ezra and Harley sat in them and we ran around the shop filling them to the brim with food we would need.
"How are we going to carry all of this?" Kelly asked.
"Good job were strong!" Noah smirked playfully flexing. Kelly shoved him away and in the process he knocked over a pile of loo roll.
We all wet ourselves laughing whilst Noah picked them up.
Then we brought paint, carpet cleaner and cleaning supplies. We went into a cheap furniture shop and brought a big sofa and a small television. That was all our money got us.
"Well it's a good job we've been saving." Noah said. We turned around, Noah and Carter were smirking.
They had £300 pounds together.
What?
We brought a double bed for me and Kelly. A small wooden bed for Casper, Nadine, Amy, Ezra and Harley. Noah treated Kelly to a pushchair for the boys. We brought a bookshelf, a coffee table, a dining table and odd chairs, and two lamps. We brought two huge wardrobes, one for the kids and one for us. Then Noah spent the rest of the money on paint of all colours to make Kelly happy.
Carter was smirking and raising an eyebrow.
"What's the betting they will be together by the end of this month?" Carter asked.
"End of this month!" I said.
"Okay then!" Carter said smirking.
We spent the next week doing the flat up. We started with the carpets. We washed all of them and they turned out to actually be white. Then we started on the walls. We painted the kitchen pink, Noah and Carter did the high bits, Kelly and I did the middle bits and Casper and Nadine did the bottom bits. We painted the living room bright yellow, the dining room turquoise. Nadine and Amy's room purple, Casper, Ezra and Harley's room green, Mine and Kelly's bedroom red and Carter and Noah's room Orange. Then we cleaned the bathroom and the kitchen and then put the furniture we had brought in the right position.
We finally had a safe, warm and clean home to live in.
That night, Noah and Carter went out job hunting, Noah got a job as a waitress and Carter got a job in a ice-cream parlour.
A man from the council came to ask us questions.
"So how are you all related?" He asked.
"Well, as you probably guessed, me and Carter are brothers.." Noah began.
"These are my two sons." Kelly said holding Ezra and Harley.
"This is my baby sister!" Nadine said holding Amy.
"So none of the children are biologically related to the adults here?"
"No." I said.
"Well I'm afraid they need to come into care then."
"NO! I'll adopt them!" I shouted.
Noah, Carter and Kelly looked at me.
"I'll adopt them. We came all this way together, were going to stick together." I said.
Nadine and Amy were smiling at me but Casper wasn't.
"Oh yeah! Can we look for some relations now who live here afterwards?" I said thinking about Blake.
"Yes. So your going to adopt Nadine and Amy??" He asked.
I nodded.
"Okay, sign these papers and they are all yours." He said handing me papers.
I signed the papers and Amy, Nadine and Casper are now my children.
Nadine was grinning and hugging Amy tight.
"Can we look for biological relatives now?" I asked.
"Yes. Can I have the names and I'll type them into the computer, and we'll find out."
"Okay, Casper what was the name of your Mum." I asked.
"I don't know." He said looking down.
Why hadn't I asked him that before?
"I know my Dad's name." He said.
"What?" The man said.
"Jake Dylan's."
Why did that name sound familiar?
I don't know.
The man typed in his name and it came up with information about him. He printed them off and handed it to me.
"Next name."
"Jake Ryan's." I said.
More information popped up.
"Amber?" Casper whispered.
"Yes."
"Are we finding my Mum, now?" He whispered.
"Yep."
"Then your son?" He whispered.
I looked at him.
"I don't know."
