Ch. 22 My Mom Invades My Date (*Saracasm*Thanks Mom)

     My mind was racing, Elwood was here! With us! Right now! I still couldn't believe it.  My heart beating all the same. Ba-boom Ba-boom. He ran up to me immediately and kissed me. I pulled away so I could see the eyes I'd been longing to see for what felt like years. Those amazing platinum eyes. Oh, sorry I got a little mushy there. But I really missed him that much. We were the only ones not playing attention to Leo and the others. I introduced Elwood to Astraeus. They seemed to get along well enough.

   We talked in the wooded area for what seemed like forever. He told me that the camps were getting restless. And they they were about ready to fight. Elwood said that he was pretty sure that Reyna and Chiron were really close to wits end, and about ready to strangle a few of the campers he  both camps, I laughed.

"So what's been going on at your end on the phone line?" he asked pulling me close. I told him about the Minotaur who was now the opal egg, the other monsters we'd been attacked by that day, and one other thing. 

"I think I know who is causing all this trouble." I told him, conviction thick in my voice.

 I was interrupted by a warning arrow, sending Elwood moving away from me.

 "Mother!" I yelled at Artemis.

 "What he was too close for comfort." she shrugged. 

"Yeah, your comfort. I was perfectly content." I told her, rolling my eyes.

She just smirked. Her wolves close at her side.

 "So, what brings you two to the woods?" she asked. 

"I was about to ask the same thing to you?" I told the goddess of the moon.

 "But because you asked first, it's because I haven't seen my boyfriend in nearly a week. And we decided to snuggle and talk. Your turn." I explained.

 "I was hunting the Minotaur and then lost it's trail. I was hoping you could explain what happened." Artemis inquired.

"Ezmeralda turned him into a opal egg, or is is opal fetus?" Elwood pondered.

  I elbowed him in the ribs as he smiled at me. 

"Oo, the pain!" he cried dramatically as I rolled my eyes. 

"That's very powerful magic, she must be very talented to be able to do something like turn the Minotaur into a egg." Artemis told us as she looked up at the moon as though she were waiting for it to reply. 

"Well, I better get going. Take good care of my daughter Elwood." then she disappeared in the moonlight.

"Well, that was interesting." Elwood told me as he looked at me raising a mahogany eyebrow quizzically.

 "I swear I had nothing to do with what just happened." I told him as I kissed him on the cheek and ran off to find the van. Elwood closely behind, antlers and all.  We found our selves smiling and out of breath upon arrival to the van. The other just looked at us. 

"What never seen a girl race her boyfriend back to our friends, Gods!" I laughed. Then we sent Leo,Elwood and the girl I dislike back to camp.
