Chapter 2
Wendy's Point of View
"Next!" Yelled a voice I didn't recognize. Well here goes nothing, I thought. I walked into the audition room with confidence.
"Hi, my name is Wendy, and I'll be performing the monologue Street Scene by Elmer Rice.
Rose: Well I haven't really had any time to do much thinking. But really think the best thing I could do is get out of New York. Like we were saying this morning, how things might be different if you only had a chance to breathe and spread out a little.
I like you so much, Sam. I like you better than anybody I know. It would be so nice to be with you, but I'm just wondering how it would work out. Suppose something was to happen-- well suppose I was to have a baby, say. What would we do then? We'd be tied down then, for life, just like all the other people around here.
I don't think people ought to belong to anybody but themselves. That's why I don't want to belong to anybody, and why I don't want anybody to belong to me. I want love more than anything else in the world. But loving and belonging aren't the same thing. Maybe someday, when we're older and wiser, things will be different.
Don't look as if it were the end of the world, Sam. If you'd only believe in yourself a little more, things wouldn't look nearly so bad. Because once you're sure of yourself, the things that happen to you aren't so important. I'm so fond of you, Sam. And I've got such a lot of confidence in you. Give me a kiss." I did a quick bow, while they clapped.
"I really like your technique, it's a bitter sweet type way you act." One if the judges said. I smiled.
"Yeah I agree, you really would be perfect for the role of Lacey." Another one said, this made my smile grow even bigger.
"I like your style Wendy." Said the last one and the only one who hadn't said anything yet.
"Thank you!" I exclaimed.
"We'll call you, thanks for your time Ms. Ortiz." The first judge said. I waved and smiled, then left the room.
"How'd it go?" Asked my mom.
"Perfect," I smiled, "Absolutely perfect."

We got into the car and headed to my favorite ice cream shop, Krazy Dream.
"We can't spend to much time though, I have to finish packing! I'm so happy that the set of the movie is in San Jose! I mean if I do get the role of course." I told my mom, who laughed from the drivers seat. "Fingers crossed."
We headed into the shop and I got my favorite kind, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. After eating/licking it, we got back into the car and headed home.
My favorite song "Truce" by Twenty One Pilots was on so I turned it up. And sang my heart out, after the song was over, my mom pulled into the parking complex, and parked in our spot.
I got out and walked into the building as mom followed me, and headed straight for the elevators. I clicked the up button and soon the doors opened, I walked in and clicked 19. The elevator soon descended to the 19th floor.
My mom and I go out and headed for our apartment. I unlocked the door and walked in. Then ran to my room and starting packing.
