“I am sorry if I have sacred you.” He said in a low tone. But his eyes did not hold the guilt.

“Why did you come here?” She asked firmly, gaining confidence slowly. This strange feeling of being strong and weak at the same time, was new to her. And she realised that it only happened yesterday night and now; both the times, he is around her. {What is he doing to me?}

“I am here to meet my absent-minded queen.” {Oh! So that is why it sounded so familiar!} She thought. There was again the flutter in her tummy, which made her feel weak. Tears ran down her eyes and she broke down, falling on the ground.

“Radha! What happened?” The smile that always adorned his face, has left. He grabbed her arm, before her head hit the ground. Sitting down beside her, he wiped her tears gently and asked her again. “What is bothering you?”

“Am I useless?” She asked, looking straight into his eyes. His eyes became darker for a fraction of second, looking like a black hole. But immediately, his eyes regained their playfulness and he smiled. “That … I think you should ask your future-husband.”

Her eyes widened in astonishment. {Is he finding this a joke? Well of course! I had asked such a silly question!} She bent her head, and her gaze fell on their interlocked fingers.

“But who will marry an absent-minded, insane person? I am never fit to be a wife.” She whispered, with tears in her eyes.

“What makes you think that?” He asked, looking deep into her eyes.

“Logic.” She replied, trying to put up a strong shell around her.

“And what is that great logic?” He asked with a bit of sarcasm mixed in his tone.

“That logic which differentiates me from the other sane people in the world. I am not normal. That is quite evident, because I never behaved like a normal girl. I am always lost in some world. I am a waste to this society. I have never made anyone happy by my deeds. My parents are always disappointed by me. I … just … leave me alone. I don’t deserve any friends.” She got up and started running away from him.

“Wait! Radha!” He caught her hand and pulled her towards him. Her head collided with his rock hard, warm chest. That is when he did the most unexpected thing. He hugged her tight!!!
Her breath stopped for a while. But her tears did not stop. She could hear his heart beat, while he felt the warmth of her tears on his chest. They stayed like that for what seemed like eternity, because for them, at that moment, time stopped. Slowly, both their breaths became synchronised as if it was a single person, breathing.

“Radha! What are you doing here?” She hastily pulled away and turned towards the middle aged man staring at her.

“Father … that …” She stammered. He gave her a fierce look. “Your mother has been worried about you, all the time and you … How can you …” his voice broke and much concern was evident in his voice, compared to anger.
Without a single word, she ran towards her home, leaving the boy staring longingly at her. His heart constricted to see her crying and going away from him. But he became successful in hiding away his tears.

“Krishna!” He recognized the man as his father’s friend and touched his feet for blessings. “Stay blessed son! But first tell me what was happening here.” The man demanded.

“Vrishabhanu ji! She was crying and I was trying to console her.” Krishna was still looking in the direction she left. “In this way?” The man enquired in his authoritative voice.

“Well! Uncle, father was searching for you in the morning. I had actually come in search of you to say this, when I found her. He says he has some important issue to discuss with you.”

“Ok! I will be there by noon.” The man left, while Krishna heaved a sigh of relief. {Somehow, I managed to escape the interrogation. But something has to be done soon regarding this matter.} He headed towards his home.
