*note: Angst, angst, an angst parade! I'm not really sure how this two should interact aside from fighting, so I made some small flashbacks where Sans already knew a Chara when thdy fell Underground.

—————————————————————I feel the cold again
I feel alone againNo one told him that with each reset, came a different version of the same person. Sans had seen it happen with the human that the monsters called their angel. The one who gave them their freedom, only for their 'so-called-angel' to take away that freedom with a press of a button. Sending them all back to the very start, it's happened countless of times that Sans lost all hope to ever glimpse the surface permanently, ever again. He's had to live though each timeline, remembering every single detail and fearing each moment that the Frisk would find satisfaction in Genocide this time. It was like he was stuck in a loop, a never ending loop where everyone that he ever cared for would all be reduced to dust no matter how much he tried.
So along the way, Sans stopped trying. He stopped trying to appeal to the kid, get them to choose the better side. Each fight, was surprisingly becoming harder to turn away from. His insides no longer crumbled seeing each Frisk that took pleasure in Genocide get impaled and blasted over, and over again. It became harder for him to give his 100 percent in anything at all, especially in forgiveness.
He's met different kinds of Frisk's in his life. Some of which were males, some females, and some stuck in between. The point was, there was always a different version of Frisk that came along. It was probably so that the other monsters would not recognise them as one person. They weren't just one person, they were different from each other.
So after a particular reset Sans awoke, on his mattress with a new sock strewn on top of his blanket. He frowned and raised his phalanges to rub across his face. Today, like the day after, the day after that day, would be a lost cause. He'd try to warn Papyrus as usual, and as usual his younger brother would still meet with the human and make friends with them. He slowly sat up and tossed the sock into the corner. Might as well get started...
He was stuck in a loop, a loop which he was fated to never escape from.
I won't live this way
I can't live this life without you
Where did you go, oh where did you go
You got me feeling like I'm six feet below the groundThe morning routine had been like usual, Sans laying on his mattress trying to go back to sleep. Yet a moment later, Sans would be roused from his sleep by Papyrus.
"COME ON BROTHER! YOU KNOW BETTER THAN TO LAZE AROUND ALL DAY!"
And he'd smile, eyes tired and smile even more tired. "i can't help it paps, i'm just- bone-tired since i did a skele-ton of work yesterday..."
Then Papyrus would throw his hands up and stomp out of Sans room, loudly berating his brother and yet failing to hide the amusement from his voice.
"OH MY GOD SANS, PUT A LITTLE MORE BACKBONE INTO YOUR JOKES!"
Sans would chuckle, his brother knew how to get at him most of the times. Papyrus was the only reason that Sans ever endured these hell-ish resets, because as long as he could be with his brother it was worth it. If it weren't for Papyrus, he would effectively have ended himself a long time ago to save himself all the pain and trouble. He sat up from the mattress and listened to his bones crack and click back into their places.
