Kelly's P.O.V.

My chest felt tight and heavy at the same time. I'd been experiencing chest pains for a long time now, some worse than this unfortunately. I rested for a while, feeling the lift of my head every so often for new ice to be placed there.

I knew Miss Leeann had come and checked on me, and I knew she made Burke go home because he hasn't visited yet today. Whenever I opened my eyes my head would hurt and the lights would be off.

I really wish I could stand up and walk around, but that won't happen for a while. There was always a person or two outside the door at all times. I knew Burke would be back within the next two hours when his shift starts.

I heard the door handle click open and a little light seep into the room from the dimly lit hallway. The person had walked over to the side of my bed and sat down on the floor.

"I'm sorry Kelly," they whispered. "This is all my fault. If only I didn't pressure you, you wouldn't be like this."

I felt a warm drip on the back of my hand. They laid their head on the side of my bed and stayed like that.

I slowly lifted my hand and placed it on their head. "It's fine Crystal, I'm still alive aren't I?"

She looked up to me and smiled. "You're awake," her voice cracked.

"Yeah, I'm awake. It isn't as easy for me to fall asleep as it used to when I was younger," I admitted.

"That's not good," she lightly laughed. "Are you feeling well, I only heard about the news a few days ago. I didn't have the will to come by."

"It's fine," I smiled. "It still hurts, my chest and all. My body feels weak all the time, I can barely stand by myself, which makes going to the bathroom and event."

"I really am sorry, if I would've known this would've happened I wouldn't've asked," she sighed.

"JUST LET US SEE HIM!" a voice yelled.

"Hide Crystal, or leave, I know who that is, trust me," I quickly said.

She scrambled around and finally hid in a small closet by the sofa and closed the door. I closed my eyes, my heart beating rapidly, I tries to pretend I was still asleep.

The door flew open and in came two familiar people. May and Amber walked in the room and over to the side of my bed.

'Oh, lord give me the strength.'

"You think he's alright?" May asked.

"From the phone call, he should be okay, but I'm still worried May, he's only fifteen," Amber replied with a sigh.

"At least he's getting the rest he needs," May giggled. "If dad were here it would be a different story. He'd either be freaking out or have the stoic expression he always has."

'Most likely he'd be on his knees thanking God that this happened to me'

"Kelly, we know you're awake," Amber said.

'Crap I said that out loud didn't I?'

"Yes you did, and you said that aloud as well," May laughed.

"Dammit," I laughed. "I was hoping I wouldn't get caught."

They both were laughing and sat down beside me. Burke walked in a few moments later, I sighed of relief.

"Oh, hello there handsome," May whistled.

"May please stop, that's embarrassing," my face heated up as I closed my eyes. "I mean he has a wife and all."

She laughed and Burke just stood at the doorway, not knowing what to do. I mean it's true, he was married, even though he doesn't wear his ring to work, which I understand. He's told me all about his wife, he's said that I remind him a lot of her. He's showed me pictures of her and the way he talks about her is really sweet.

"Aw, he's taken, darn," Amber laughed. "Why are all the good ones already taken."

"Please, just stop," I laughed. "I beg you please, and you both are married anyways."

Burked cleared his throat and spoke up. "I'm sorry I'm here early, but they said they needed me as soon as possible. I can see why now."

I laughed as much as my body would allow. My sisters were a handful for anyone who met them, I feel sorry for their husbands, honestly. I remembered Crystal still in the closet and caught Burke's eyes and glanced at the closet, he seemed to understand instantly.

"I think Kelly needs to rest right now," Burke said. "It was nice for you to visit, even if it was by force about how you got in here."

They both said their goodbyes, with aggravation, and left without causing a scene, for which I was thankful. I thanked Burke as he made his way to sit beside me.

"You can come out now Crystal," Burke laughed.

Crystal emerged from the closet, clenching her stomach and silently laughing. "That was amazing."

"Not when you had to live with it for thirteen years," I joked. "They can be so embarrassing sometimes."

"But they are pretty funny, and it feels nice to be hit on every once and awhile even though I am married," Burke laughed.

"Glad to hear that," I added sarcastically.

A/N: Someone please tell me why May and Amber remind me so much of the geese from the Aristocats.

I am laughing so hard.
