Cold Shoulder:

As I walked through the halls of our headquarters I couldn't help but think about how strange Static had been lately. Whenever I tried to talk to him he just ignored me or walked away. When I asked if he wanted to train together, like we always do, he told me he needed someone more challenging. I have to admit. That one hit me hard.

I headed into the training arena and saw Static fighting Blue Beetle. I might as well try to see if Static will talk to me.
"Morning boys!" I shouted over to the fighting pair.
"Morning (Y/N)!" Beetle called over his shoulder while Static didn't even look at me. I groaned and went over to a punching bag to relieve my anger.

Punch. How is it possible we were such good friends just a few days ago? Punch. What did I do or say? Punch. I want him to talk to me! Punch. I want him to let me tell him how much I like him! Punch.

An hour punching and punching eventually left my arms feeling like jelly and my heart pounding. I looked over to see Static practicing with his metal plate. He made eye contact with me and I tried to smile but he just looked away. I landed one more punch, the most powerful of them all.

I grabbed my bag and realized that we were alone. I don't even remember Blue leaving. I sighed and looked at Static.

"Virgil!" I walked up to him and he was about to walk away when I used my powers to move a bench in front of him. "We need to talk."

Virgil looked at me as if I was the enemy. A lowly scum criminal he had to take out. What had I done?

"Stop it (Y/N)!" He snapped at me but I just gave him a disapproving look.

"Stop acting like we found you at a nursery school." A slight smile cracked his otherwise angry exterior. "See, I can still make you smile." He immediately returned to miserable  expression.

"Can't you just leave me alone?" I shook my head in response. "Why don't you just go annoy someone else? Like Nightwing?" He said this with such a bitter tone that I had a flashback.

It was a mission a week ago. Nightwing, Virgil and I were Alpha squad and we were infiltrating an arm dealers warehouse. It wasn't long before we had been found and were kissing donkey.

During the fight I had been so involved in taking on the big guy I didn't see the guy wth a gun giving me a nasty look. He pulled a gun and had it aimed squarely at my head. Nightwing had tackled me to the ground and we had ended up in a bit of a compromising position.

Is he being serious? I stared at him like a third head was emerging from his neck. What he seriously jealous? Was he seriously ignoring me because of that?

"Oh Virgil. Don't be stupid. I don't care about Nightwing I just want you." A huge smile crossed his face and he moved towards me before I stopped him. "Is what I would have said if I a girl who cared about the fact that you were jealous." His face fell.

"You want to know what Virgil! The fact that your manhood was threatened by another male is not my fault. I should not have to run after you like you are some wild dog because your genitals got a smack."

At that moment I was smoking.

"So next time you feel threatened! Act like a man and tell me that you like me! Got it?!" Virgil meekly nodded.

I started walking away and just before leaving and half turned my body towards him. "You can make it up to me by buying me coffee and a brownie." I waited for him was he was awestruck. "Well, come on. Girl got to eat."

He grinned and caught up to me while slyly slipping his hand into mine.
