When I was younger and my mom was still alive she would make us all diner and when my dad got home we would listen to him talk about work over desert. I remember how the people vs Rogers really messed him up. He was lead detective in the case and the things that rogers did really messed him up. I heard all types of gruesome stories about how many people he killed. Who would have thought that the ex military maniac would be at my school.
Dahlia and I were huddled together. Waiting for, well whatever was going to happen next. Looking around all I could see were frightened faces. Some people were already crying. Others were on the brink of freaking out. I guess I should be happy that my classmates weren't stupid enough to run for the door.
Roger's walked to the center of the stage and began to speak into a microphone. Everyone was dead silent in anticipation of what he'll say.
"Now listen up. I have a little score to settle so if you want to live you'll do as I say".
Everyone was still silent. A pun could drop and everyone could here it.
The men he had with him started to delegate. Separating the eighth and ninth graders from the rest and having certain teachers go with certain groups. They then collected phones. Pat searching if necessary. I hid mines in my belt just in case my sixty percent could be useful. Then the unexpected happened. The put half of the phones in water. The other phones were shot up. As if they were target practice or soon to be replaced with body's. let's just say that if the tactic was to scare us it worked.
And then we just waited. Some cried. Some were silent. But we all just waited. Until a phone rang. Everyone looked around until the owner was found. It was a junior hockey play who looked like he had just scene a ghost.
Instead of it stopping it kept on ringing. Rogers stepped to him. I am certain that kid peed his pants. Rogers took the phone and answered it. It was on speaker. A frantic women spoke in pieces about how she heard about the raid and wondered if he was okay. BOOM
He was dead. Rogers shot him in the head. The room went from silence to screaming once the shock wore of. I could here what I assumed was his mother screaming on top of the other ones.He shot to more in the air and everyone forced themselves silent. Even if they had to bite there tears. He put the phone to his ear and calmly spoke. " ma'am, your son his dead you continuously called. You killed him with your persistence. Maybe now you'll understand that if someone doesn't pick up it's because they don't want to. He hung up the phone.
I was paralyzed with fear but more so with anticipation. If one little phone call made him murder a person how long will it take for him to kill everyone else.
