Jaykit looked up at his mother.... It's been a moon or two since they were born... "Mom! Can I go hunting? I'll be good... Please!!!" Jaykit begged.... "No! Your only a kit! Besides aren't I more fun?" I meowed with a hint of laughter in my voice... Jaykit shook his head violently and I laughed... "Go play with your siblings... I'm sure there as bored as you..." Jaykit padded over to Spottedkit... "Hi, Jaykit! I bet I can jump higher than you!" She spat admiringly.... "I don't think so, Spottedkit! I'm going to jump the highest! And be the best apprentice and warrior in all the clans!" Jaykit squealed! "Kits play nice...." Hollowflight mewed... Jaykit grunted and pounces on Spottedkit... "Hey, fur ball get off me! Your so fluffy I'm gonna die in heat!" Spottedkit hissed... She threw me off and pounced on me! She nipped my shoulder and hit my ear with her paw playfully... "Hey! Get off me! I thought we were jumping! Wheres Graykit and Silverkit?" I meowed... Spottedkit shrugged and we kept play fighting...
A hiss startled Jaykit as he dreamt.... "Who.... Who's there?" I stammered... "Follow me..." The strange tom hissed... "My name is Whitestripe... I'm your mothers father.... I'm here with you because I need to tell you something.... Your whole litter... Your own mom... They don't want you... They say that you get in there way and that your never gonna learn to hunt and fight because you stink more than fox dung!" Whitestripe spat angrily... I stared in horror... "I.... I don't be... believe yo... you!" I growled...
I woke with a start.... "Wake up dirty fur ball!" Spottedkit teased... I hissed and she backed away...
5 MOONS LATER......
"Today were becoming apprentices!" I yowled! I was a litter scared but more excited.... Hollowflight licked me until all my fur was flat against my skin.... "Stop! Mom! I'm only becoming an apprentice! It's no big deal! Don't make such a fuss! I'm not a mouse-brain!" I hissed at her... She looked started by my angry tone... I apologized and she was fine....
Featherstar stares at us all.... "We will be giving these four apprentices their apprentice name!" She yowled.... Her eyes gleamed... Featherstar was Hollowflights mother.... And Whitestripe was her father.... ".....Graypaw, your mentor will be Mousetail!" Yowls went through the clearing.... ".......Silverpaw, your mentor will be Tigerfrost!" Featherstar yowled..... "......Spottedpaw, your mentor will be Fernfeather!" Another batch of yowling hit the air....
"Jaykit, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and put your clan before your own independent needs?" Featherstar prompted... "I do..." I meowed... "Then by the powers of starclan I here by give you your apprentice name.... Jaykit from this moment till you become a warrior, you'll be known as Jaypaw! Your mentor will be Limefur!" Featherstar yowled! Limefur was the medicine cat! I always wanted to speak with starclan! I held my head high and stared proudly at all my clan mates.... For once I'll feel special.... I'm finally a real part of my clan.....
