My Inescapable Destiny

Chpt 1

I ran. I ran and I ran and I ran as fast as I could. But it wasn't fast enough. A booming laugh echoed behinde me, footsteps right on my tail. I wish I could change, oh how much I wish I could so bad but I was still too young, it has only just begun for me.

I was just kidding myself- trying to run. They knew they could catch me, they thought it was funny- a sick, twisted, funny game. I gasped as a loud chuckle surrounded me, the closeness sent me into a frenzy as I could feel his cool breath on my neck. Where are the people? Oh god why did I have to leave! Why was I such a coward!

I stumbled on a tree root but quickly picked myself up and kept running. My breath coming out in short, labored pants now- I wouldn't be able run much longer. I was so screwed.

Soon the edge of the woods came into view and I rejoiced. Apparently too soon. The air knocked out of me as I felt what seemed like a truck ram into me. I flew in the air and crashed to the ground, rolling until I came to a stop. Twigs and leaves tangled in my hair, cuts and scrapes covered my arms and legs and thorns stuck out of my clothes. I lifted my head up as my body laid sprawled, face down on the ground- blood tricked down my mouth.

A shadow fell on my face and I looked up to see Demitri grinning down at me, but he wasn't Demitri anymore- not to me. He stuck his hand out as if offering help- I guess he was the truck. I glared at him and pushed myself up. We both stood there, looking into each others eyes, waiting to see who would make the first move. I could see more shadows emerging from the trees, Hunter was there, he grinned at me- the one that scared me the most. I didn't stand a chance.

He obviously expected me to back down, a smirk plastered on his face. I growled and stuck my chin out in an attempt to hide my fear, he grinned. Not the reaction I was hoping for....

"You are brave" he stated. I made no effort to answer, this must be some trick, the game was still going on.

"You will join us Amirysia, whether you like it or not". I racked my brain for something, anything that would help, but I came up blank.

"A-and how do u plan on do- doing that?" I asked, trying to keep my stuttering in control. He laughed and his eyes twinkled, a bad sign for me.

"Darling, I already have" he said as he pulled out a gun. My eyes widened and at first I thought he was going to shoot me. But then I saw his peircing green eyes trained on my arm. Confused I looked down to see a thorn sticking out if my sleeve. Wait....that wasn't a thorn.

My eyes widened even further as I figured out what it was- a dart. I had been shot. How could I have not noticed that! My vision began to get blurry and I could hear sounds like water rushing in my ears. I remember Demitri walking up to me, and I collapsed into his arms. Before I blacked out, I thought of one last thing before I gave into the blackness- deep blue eyes staring at me, willing for me to stay safe- but that couldn't be true, he didn't care, he never did and never will. Alone I fell into nothingness, approaching my impending doom.
