Rick's POV
I was in my lab working on stuff until something pops in my mind. (Y/n). I can't help but think of her cute face and her soft hair. I sigh. How can a (y/a) year old like her love an old man like me?
"Wouldn't hurt to try." I mumbled.
I walk inside and say, "(y/n)?"
A crashing sound fills the room and the TV goes quiet.
"Everything okay?"
"Yeah!" She yelled.
I walk to her and see her blocking the TV.
"Why are you blocking the TV?"
"N-No reason." She stuttered.
"Lemme see what's on."
"NO!" She replied.
I grab the remote and try to move (y/n).
"Stop Rick! There's nothing to see!" She yelled.
I pick her up and hold her as I turn the volume up.
"It's been 3 weeks since (y/a) year old orphan (y/n) (l/n) has been missing from the orphanage." The news guys said holding a picture of her, "There will be a $5000 reward for whoever returns her."
(y/n) tries to escape my grip, but she knows that I'm stronger than her. She faces me with tears running down her cheeks.
"Now you know how I ended up here! Now what are you gonna do?! Send me back?! Get rewarded with money?! And make me rot like a good little orphan?!" She yelled with more tears streaming down her face.
In my eyes, I can see the 7 year old orphan within her. I remember her nightmare I witnessed. She was an outcast there. She was truly scared. I put my hands on her shoulders and look into her eyes.
"No. I won't send you back." I replied.
"Why?" She asked.
"Because I-I lo-lov- UGH DAMN IT!"
"You love me?" She asked.
"Yeah." I mumbled looking down at my feet.
She lifts my chin up and kisses me. Her lips were so soft, as if they were rose petals. She pulls away and I stand there. She looks down, and closes her eyes as tears fall from her beautiful eyes.
"Hey." I said raising her chin up.
She opens her eyes and looks into mine.
"Don't shut your gorgeous eyes on me. I love you too much to send you back to that hell of an orphanage. I promise to treat you right. I promise to be with you every step of the way." I explained.
She holds my hands, "I love you too."
