Chapter 13

“What’s going on in here?!” He said. “I want you all out, Natasha has been through a great deal and whatever you are doing is putting stress on her heart that she doesn’t need and I really need to talk to her.” He said and immediately I started to think of my baby Talon wondering if he was going to be okay.

“Tucker, can you stay with me please?” I asked.

“I don’t know if that’s a great idea.” The doc said.

“He’s my guardian.” I said and the Doctor nodded.

“Well when you first got here we had no hope of you surviving more than an hour, but you must have a guardian angel looking out for you because besides the loss of blood and some cuts and bruises you seem to be doing well. Your appendix ruptured which would have happened sooner or later and is not uncommon so we had to remove it, but many people have their appendix removed so that is nothing to worry about. As for your baby. Well as of right now he seems to be okay. There is a chance that you will lose him so we will need to keep a close eye on that, but for now he is fine.” With that the doctor walked out.

My eyes welled up with tears. “Tucker.” I whispered out trying to keep my tears in. Right away Tucker came onto the bed and hugged me close to him.

“It’s okay, he will be fine.” Tucker said. I fell asleep leaned against Tucker thinking about my poor baby boy.

Tuckers POV

When Natasha fell asleep I walked back into the waiting room where everyone was talking in a circle.

“So Sarg I’m guessing you can read minds too.” I said.

“Yeah I can, but only when I have physical contact with someone. And I need to talk to you, the last time I tried to read Natasha’s mind she pushed me out with so much force she was actually able to see into my own mind. But just now she wasn’t really paying attention and I got a glimpse of something. I don’t understand what it is and it’s really freaking me out. I think it was her memory I only got bits and pieces of it but from what I saw it was a man not an animal that walked into the middle of the road. And when she crashed he had walk to her and all that I was able to her him say was. We will never leave you alone. We ~ you, but when the time is right ~ what you need ~ we will ~ use you against ~ you love ~. That ~ needed to die. ~ thing into this world ~ take it out.” Sarg sounded a little freaked.

“It was almost like even though she wasn’t aware of it she was still trying to block me out.”

“Sarg can you picture the man in your mind and concentrate on it for as long as you can.” I said in a cold dead voice trying so hard to keep my calm. I looked into Sarg’s mind and saw that the man was the same man I had seen when I went digging into Natasha’s mind so long ago. It was the man that did bad things to her and killed her family. I felt rage pumping through my veins. I could feel a chill and I ran outside with everyone chancing me. When I got to the nearest tree I punch it with all my might and it broke off and the top part lit on fire with so much heat that in a flash like lightening all that was left was the tree stub. I felt my energy drain in a single second. I had used too much emotion in that one punch. I fell to the ground breathing heavily.

“Tucker are you okay? What’s going on why are you so angry who was the guy?” Porsche asked.

I just shock my head and walked back into the hospital to see Natasha.

Natasha’s POV

When I woke up again I noticed that Tucker was gone and just assumed that he had gone home to rest up. All of a sudden I noticed that the piece of paper with Phill’s number on it was next to my cell phone so I picked it up and called him.

“Hello?” Phil

“Um hi ahhhh it’s Natasha.”

“Oh hi Natasha how are you feeling?”

“Okay I guess. I was just wondering if maybe I could take you up on that date?” I asked a little nervous. I needed something to distract me from everything that was going on right now and Phil seemed to be the perfect way to do that.

“Yes of course.”

We continued to talk and Phil was actually a really nice guy. We agreed that Wednesday we would meet up and have lunch. I was actually looking forward to it. Just as I was finishing up with my call Tucker walked in and immediately I concentrated on building a safe around my mind to stop Tucker from seeing or hearing what I was thinking about.

“How are you doing that?!” Tucker asked sounding a little freaked.

“Doing what?” I asked innocently.

Tucker gave me a funny look. “You know what.” He said.

“Oh that well I don’t know I didn’t know it would work, but I just thought about putting my thoughts into a safe that only I can access. I was just testing it out to see if it would work.” I said.

“Well take it down I don’t like not knowing what you’re thinking.” Tucker said sounding aggravated.

I was annoyed by this. “I really don’t think so. I would really rather be able to have my privacy.”

“If that’s what you want.” Tucker said and turned around and walked out the door. I didn’t understand what was going on had I hurt him so bad that he didn’t even want to be around me. I dropped the shield. Do I really mean so little to him that he’s going to leave me just because I wanted to keep some things from him. Sadness swallowed me whole and my vision went red as I flashed back to the night my family was killed. They had magic powers and yet they didn’t use them. Was it me that caused that too. A hot tear slide down my face. Were they sick of me just like Tucker is. Did they die to get away from me? My heart sank down and I closed my eyes. Darkness swallowed me as my mind went blank. My body felt funny.
