The best thing ever just happened to me. In my whole life.

I just got accepted into LOST AND FOUND MUSIC STUDIOS!

I've been working crazy hard to get in and it's been my ambition for so long, I, I, I'm just in shock! I can't even put it into words!

Earlier today, I got a email from Mr T. It was really short and all it said was that I got in and that I need to be there at 9:30 sharp tomorrow morning. No why, no how, nothing. But all I know is that I am in, and this is my chance to shine.

"Bye, Mom!" I call as I get out of the car. I turn and see Lost and Found Music Studios. My new home.

I bound in and see Theo, this amazing person who's been giving me guitar lessons for a while. He's an awesome mentor and great friend. "Theo!" I squeal, taking off and wrapping him in a hug.

"Uh, hey, Brittany?" He is clearly very...surprised, but I'm sure he'll be as excited as me when he finds out. After all, he has supported me and helped me get in. "What are you doing here?" he asks. "We don't have a lesson today."

"Theo," I begin, inhaling deeply, "I got in! I got into Lost and Found!"

"Well done! That's really good! Looks like all that work paid off! So do you-"

"Uh, sorry, Theo, gotta go, I'll see you later," I interrupt as I spot Mr T. "Bye!" I shout. I run towards Mr T.

"Just on time." He looks up from his watch. "Follow me," he tells me, and takes me through to his office.

"So how did I get in?" I ask, practically bouncing up and down in my chair.

"Patience, Brittany," replies Mr T, and I immediately hush. There is no way I'm blowing this chance. It's a once in a lifetime  chance and I'm gonna do everything in my power to keep it this way.

"So you wanna know how you got in, correct?" he asks, and I nod dutifully. "Well, one of my students, uh, made a mistake and did something bad, really bad, and so we had no choice but to tell her she couldn't be part of Lost and Found anymore. Therefore there was a vacant spot, and as I told you before, you are at the top of the waiting list. So that meant you got a spot. Any other questions?" He seems somewhat relieved to get that off his chest. But I don't really care, because something is making me curious.

"Yeah, actually, I do have a question. Who was kicked out of Lost and Found? Who's spot did I take?"

Mr T frowns. "I'm sorry, I'm not allowed to tell you that. I'm sure you knew them, but as studio head I'm not allowed to freely give out information. But I'm pretty sure you knew this person." Ugh. I really wanted to know so I could...make the most of this situation. I sigh and look out the window, where I see Rachel, Annabelle and Maggie walking. I don't see Leia, though. They're always togeth- Oh my goodness. Leia!

I smirk as I realise whose spot I took. I feel a little bad for her, but at least she's given me the chance of a lifetime!

"That's ok, Mr T, I know who it was," I smile, tapping the side of my nose. He looks at me, trying to put on a pokerface, though it's more widened eyes and raised eyebrows than pokerface. But honestly I don't care. I'm ready to take this opportunity with both hands. "'Kay, so, I'll see you later? Yeah?" He nods. "Okay then! Bye!" I beam, and fist bump myself once I'm out of the office.

I reinstate what I said earlier. Best. Day. Ever.

I march into the Rose Room to find that I'm interrupting a rehearsal. The boys' rehearsal, to be precise.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realise you'd be here," I frown. "I'll just be..." I trail off as I gesture towards the door.

"No, no, it's okay," Theo reassures me. I beam at him. "You can stay and maybe watch us! It'll give you an inside look into the happenings at Lost and Found Music Studios," he says dramatically as I chuckle. "Not that you'll need it now! But anyway, it's really no biggie. She can stay, right guys?" He turns to his band. Silence fills the room. This is awkward.

"Sure?" Luke finally pipes up, though it's more of a 'is that what I'm supposed to say?' type question than an actual response. "She...she can stay," he confirms, shifting his weight from one foot to the other.

"Thanks," I smile, and make myself comfortable on a stool. John and Luke exchange a look, but I really don't think it's anything. The band plays for another half hour or so, and I realise how good they really are. They're super talented, and it makes me realise how priviliged I am to be at a place like this, with people as gifted as Theo and Luke and John and Rachel and other people whose names I don't really know. Hm, I actually don't know that many people. I should definitely get myself better acquainted with the students here.

As the boys put away their guitars, I tell them I'm gonna go get a juice. "Bye!" I wave, smiling to myself. This day could not be going any better.

I'm walking towards the Java Junction, I think it's called, when I hear this awesome singing coming from behind a door. I was never really allowed in this part of the studio when I wasn't a student here, so I still don't know my way around properly.

I open the door and see Rachel, Maggie and Annabelle standing there recording a song. They stop abruptly as I push the door open, looking in surprise at me. "Uh...hi?" I smile awkwardly. Wow, I'm getting really good at this whole rehearsal interruption thing.

I sigh. "I'm really sorry, it was a mistake. I just heard you guys sounding amaaazing and I had to check who it was," I tell them. They exchange a happy glance, and I smirk to myself. Great save, Britt, I think. "So, uh, where's Leia, guys?" I ask sweetly. Rachel suddenly becomes incredibly invested in the positioning of the microphone, Annabelle decides now would be a good time to file her nails and Maggie stares at me, her face impossible to read.

"We couldn't have her as part of the band anymore," Maggie tells me, slowly and cautiously. "This just wasn't the right place for her." The other two girls nod.

"Oh, I get it," I reply. Maggie raises her eyebrows at me.

"Really? 'Cause I don't think you-"

"Okay, Maggie, thank you," interrupts Rachel, dragging Maggie behind her by the arm. "Wait, Brittany, what are you doing at Lost and Found? I mean, you're not a student so you're not really allowed here..."

"Well, actually, I am! I got in! Uh, basically, I got a email, yesterday, saying I'd got in, and, yeah!" I spout quickly.

"Congrats!" says Annabelle.

"Thanks." I smile at them.

I watch the three of them flicking through their music sheets and something behind them catches my eye. It's a sheet of paper with the letters 'FEMALE SINGER NEEDED' emblazoned in big letters at the top. They're holding auditions for a new band member! They lost one, so they need another one. Wow!

Wait, this situation seems familiar. Like it's happened before. A band loses a member, and so they hold auditions for a new one. Oh my gosh, Leia did the same thing when Maggie got kicked out! But this time, they can't take Leia back because she's gone.

This is my opportunity to finally make something of myself here at Lost and Found. Buzzing, I tell the girls I'm heading off but I'll see them around.

"Bye!" they wave in unison. I practically skip out of the rehearsal room. This day has been amazing.
