Rumor

Usually, pumapasok ako sa school around 8 am para wala na masyadong tao sa corridor. Pero dahil walang maghahatid sakin ngayon, I came up earlier. Kaya heto ako ngayon, center of attention. Maraming nagbubulong bulungan. Maraming pasempleng umiirap. Maraming nakatambay na nagpapacute. And here I am, naiiba ang uniform. Para bang napaka big deal nito sa kanila. Tsk.

Dito sa Dan Brown University, merong naiiibang system na ginagamit. Those who have an IQ of 90 to 119 belongs to the Regular Class or the House Vaishyas . And those who have 130 and above belongs to the Special Class or House Brahmin. There has been a very large gap between the two houses. I belong to House Brahmin and so I'm different between them. Different uniforms. Different class hours. Different building. Different level.

Well, hindi na bago iyon sa akin. I've seen worst. Minsan nga may isang freshman na pinagbabato ng itlog dahil daw hindi naman nababagay sa SC. Tsk. Hindi nila alam kung gaano kahirap manatili sa SC. Mabuti nga sila normal lang ang level ng pagtuturo sa kanila. Sa amin, sapilitan.

" Hey!"

Agad naman akong napalingon. Si luke pala. Tss. I still haven't forgot what I did last week. I could still remember how bashful I am. Nakakahiya talaga yun. Damn.

" OMG! Is Luke dating that ugly bitch?"

" No! I will not agree to that!"

" But Luke doesn't talk to girls. That's the first!"

" Are they dating?"

" I heard to my cousin she saw daw Luke in a resto with her last week. Maybe they're really dating!"

" Oh gosh! Im gonna faint!"

" Hi!" He jogged towards me. His long hair is swaying, bouncing in every jog he make. He looks like an anime character with his hair on loose. Hangang balikat at itim na itim ang buhok nito. A very handsome guy with a long hair. Just like someone I know.

" Ang aga mo yata ngayon?" Tanong nya nang umabot sya sa malapit pwestong kinatatayuan ko. I suddenly feel my muscle tensed ngayon malapit ito sakin.

" Walang maghahatid sakin kaya nagcummute na ako." I turn away from him. Kailangan ko ng maka-alis. Hs presence is intoxicating. At hindi ko kayang makipag sabayan sa kaniya lalo na't mainit ang issue tungkol sa amin. Tss. Kung wala ba namang tsimosa na nagkalat na "kami na". Never in my wildest dream.

" tss. Ang landi talaga". Rinig kong sabi ng isang babae.Yan na nga ba ang sinasabi ko. Homo sapiens are born to be judgemental. Hindi ko na nalang pinansin. Tsk.

" Just don't mind them. Hindi naman importante ang iniisip ng iba". I just shrugged at his words. Teka, bat parang feeling close ito sa kin?

" Mas mabuti siguro if wag mo na akong susundan. I'm going to our building and you're not welcome there. Sige bye!" I immediately ran awat from him. Hindi na naman ito sumunod thanks God.

I walked down the hallway of our four storey building. I can't help but compare our building to the rest of the buildings here in our school. Ours is more sophisticated and more improved. We have high-tech fingerprint scanner to access the building and even the classrooms. We have CCTV cameras installed on every corner. We have an air conditioned white classrooms that doesn't need paper and pen, only loptops. Our cafeteria is run by famous chiefs. We have luxury and that's what made us different from them.

I press my thumb on the scanner and enter our classroom. I was greeted by Myles and Jacob whose busy on their research. They're the early birds of our section and they're the "nerdiest" among us. I walked towards them and greeted them back.

" You're early today Arriane. Is it because of the rumor that you want to escape?" I was shocked at the question of Myles. Umabot naba dito kaagad yung rumor na nadaan ko sa kabilang building? I composed myself and pretended dumb about it.

" Whar rumor is that?" Myles shifted her glance at me.

" Don't tel me you don't know that Luke Rodriguez of the Pentagon and you is rumored to be dating?" Dating? What the hell?

" Don't tell me you believe in that unbased rumor Myles?" I tried to sound unaffected by it. I have to show her I don't care about it when in fact my insides are turning upside down.

" Okay. I believe you. But Arriane, try to be more careful next time, you don't want your father to be upset right?" I rolled my eyes.
