I woke up to the sound of some kid and felt him hitting me. I open my eyes and see I was right. I was being hit with a broom. I grab the broom and throw it else where and approach the boy. He wasn't actually a boy around my age or a year younger. "Why are you two in my barn!?" He yells and I scowl at him. "Your the princess that ran away! There is a huge reward for you." He said and shows us a piece of paper with me and Zane on it. "Yes, we ran away. You will tell?" I asked grabbing my sword from its case. "N-No! I do not want to be rich at all. All that bored me. When I'd go by the rich who are washed in money its just a pitty to watch them fighting with poor people. Money consumed people are the worst." He said and I let go of my sword and smiled a tad'. "We are headed to the dark forest now." I said and his face lit up. "May I come!" He said in excitement. "I don't trust you." Zane said getting up from his spot.
"You'll only slow us down." He said standing taller than me and the boy. "But I don't want to stay here working for my father! He treats me like crap and beats me! Let me go please!" He pleaded and I sly smile made its way to my lips. "Zaney, are you afraid that he may get in the way? Or maybe that he is better than you?" I said it in a challenging voice that seemed to spark something inside of him. 'Clever you are' The voice came back but before I could ask it anything it was gone once again. "Fine! Let him come!" He said surrendering. I stick my hand out to him.
Welcome to our team, ummmm, name?" I asked and he jumped. "O-Oscar!" He said shaking my hand. "Ready a horse because we have quiet a lot to go." I said and he nodded and went to the far side of the stable and pulled out a black horse like Zanes but this one had white prints on its face and hooves. "Amazing." I said stunned at the beauty. "Come on Rose, let's keep moving." Zane said picking me up and putting me on my horse. "I could have gotten on by my self." I pouted and he just chuckled low and kissed my cheek.
Oscar stands next to me with his horse ready so we all charge out quickly because search parties can't be far from us. We stay on the dirt path till we make it to a lustful and greener part of the forest. We slow down and start a little trot from here. "I thought it was going to be dark and spooky not bright and pretty." Said Oscar. 'Someone didn't study, its called the Dark Forest because when the great dragon war happened it left everything burnt to a crisp causing ashes and burned marks to be left everywhere.' The voice in my head said. 'Who are you, please tell me.' I said in my head. 'You must focus right now, but you will soon find out.
We made it to a little town and decides to get some necessity before going any further. We dismount our horses and tight them up on a post. We head in pulling our cloaks tight on us. We bought some clothes for Oscar and the little sack that Zane brought was filled with money. "Hey, when I went back into the castle and grabbed your clothes I also grab undergarment and dang it has so many holes." He said into my ear making me blush. "I-Idiot!" I yelled at him and he chuckles. We gave Oscar some money to buy food and we were buying clothes for me and Zane. I bought leggings and shirts with a new belt with a place for my sword and Zane got rid of his armor and traded it in for some peasant clothes and when I look at people around us the girls kept staring at him. "Hey, Rose what do you think?" He asked, I glanced at him but kept walking without saying anything. "Rose?" He asked standing next to me. "Just go sho-" I was interrupted by the sirens again. We quickly ran to our horses and Oscar came to. We pack up and jump on hearing the metal crash knowing soldiers were in search of us.
We ride out quick and headed back on the dirt path once again getting farther and farther.
