Chapter 7

Dan had sat with him again at lunch for the next week as well.

Phil very much enjoyed his company, especially now that he had this whole 'I just coughed up a flower' situation at hand. He tried his best not to think about that much. It had happened nearly two days ago by then, and he didn't think it was a big deal. Even if that goddamn tickle still hadn't gone away and had only grown stronger.

"Phil? You okay?" Dan had asked quietly, snapping Phil out of his thoughts and pulling him back into the conversation once more. He simply smiled sweetly with nod, taking another bite of the overpriced pizza he'd ordered from the cafeteria that day. Even if it tasted similar to that of mouldy cardboard, it was a means to simply listen to Dan speak as he ate.

And boy, did Phil like to listen to Dan speak. There was just something in the way his voice rose and fall as he retold tales upon tales that made Phil's little gay heart flutter.

And, the pain in Phil's chest grow stronger.
