Chapter Five

When Malak and his friends get here I open the door for them and of course my cousins start getting loud.

Malak: Wassup lil n!ggas
King: Hey
Kj: My n!gga;Tre
Tre:Waddup lil homie
Laila: Is Nya here?
Malak: Nah she went somewhere
Dylan: Who gives a fu¢k let's get lit
Malak: aight
Laila: Let's have a confession session
Tre: I dont have none to confess to to any of y'all
King: It could be about anyone
Tre:(😐) Aight

We all begin to confess to something.

Malak: Okay, when I first saw you Laila I thought you were beautiful but then I was like, your looks dont match your personality. (Looks away from the circle)
Laila: What?! (😱)
Malak: Sorry
Kj: Anyway its my turn, Okay, Laila one time when I was here I stole some money off the TV stand.
Tre: (laughs)
Laila: Well it wasn't my money (shrugs shoulders)

I confess to liking Malak and he goes from laughing to a serious face. After everyone but Tre confesses Tre says

Tre: I like Nya
Laila: Oop, imma tell her
Tre: Please no
Laila: Scary (laughs)
Malak: Sh!t
King: What happened
Malak: Man, I gotta go
Laila: Why
Malak: I needa talk to you Laila (Grabs my hand and we go to my room)
Laila: What is it Malak?
Malak: You can't like me
Laila: Why?
Malak: Cause I dont know if Nya has told you this already but she already likes me, and thats gone start some sh!t
Laila: Wtf?
Malak: (leaves the room)

When he leaves I sit on my bed. Why does everyone gotta like the same people as me. All I can think about is Malak. Tre busts in my room, interrupting my thoughts.

Tre: Man, come back downstairs stairs it ain't lit no more wit out you
Laila: No I dont want to (pulls covers over myself)
Tre: N!gga, who gives a fu¢k if a lot of people like him, he ain't giving his heart to no one anyway.
Laila: Just leave, you're just making it worse (yells)
Tre: aight then (starts to leaves the room)
Laila: Wait, I'm sorry, its just you dont know how it feels to really love someone and they- they just dont like you back at all (😢)
Tre: I know exactly what that feels like, Malak told Nya about how I felt about her and she said she didn't care, that she wasn't interested in light skins but I knew she was lying because she likes Malak (frowns)
Laila: (hugs him) I'm sorry

Soon enough we fall asleep, Tre has his arm wrapped around my waist and my head is leaned up against his chest.
