The wind blew past roughly, causing tears to form in Gerard's eyes. No matter the pain, he continued to walk. It wasn't because if the wind, fully, that he was crying. It was mostly because if the pain, and the guilt, of running away from home. His father forced Mikey to live with other relatives a small time ago, leaving Gerard alone. In that short span of time, from when Mikey left until this very second, it was rough. He came home, already being reminded at school he was a mistake, and got abused for not being the child his father wanted. Gerard would cry himself to sleep, childish he thinks of himself when doing so. He sees Mikey at school, although the situation will always break his heart he tries to be happy for Mikey. Mikey will often ask what the bruises are from, since Gerard didnt get hit when Mikey was around, but Gerard shrugged each time. Saying 'he must've done it in his sleep.'

"Stay out Frank, you're a disgrace! This is the last time you'll ever step foot in this house!" An older woman yelled after a younger boy who had his head hanging low while dragging a backpack with him. The older woman took a sip of her drink, more than likely it was alcohol, and hobbled back over to her beaten up house. Gerard, curiously, walked towards where he heard the yelling. He examined the house, it wasn't exactly fancy. "Oh shit, sorry." A small voice cracked, Gerard looked down a bit. Confused, Gerard tilted his head "why?" He asked referring as to why he is sorry. "All the yelling, probably woke you up. Didn't it?" The smaller, in height, boy said to Gerard with a slight hint of sass.
"Actually, no, I was just passing through here." Gerard responded, immedietly feeling bad social anxiety form from the pit of his stomach to his finger tips.

The small boy chuckled, "passing through, really?" He asked, not believing Gerard, having a small smirk. "Yeah, I don't have a home." Gerard lied although technically a home is like a shelter for animals. Shelter is meant to protect, but Gerard wasn't protected in his home. So it shouldn't have been classified as a home. "Well," Frank looked back at the house he had just been thrown out of, "neither do I." The smaller boy adjusted his backpack and shifted his weight to his left foot. Gerard stood there, unsure of what to say to a guy who had just been thrown out of his house and is cool with it. The smaller boy looked around again, talking his foot against the pavement below him.

"What is your name?" The small boy looked back up at Gerard, although there wasn't too much of a height difference. "Gerard, Gerard Way." Gerard cleared his throat and crossed his arms from the cold. "Gerald?" The small boy chuckled, knowing that isn't his he just wanted to mess with him. Gerard sighed and scratched the back of his neck everyone does this. "No, its Gerard." A smiled tugged at his lips wanting to smile, but Gerard wanted to keep serious. All that caused him to blush, thankfully it was dark outside. Gerard crossed his arms, shyly, and looked away from the small boy. "No need to be shy about it," The smaller boy said in a calm tone.

Gerard looked back at him, quickly, the blush slightly more red. "i'm not shy." Gerard smiled, but had his eyebrows furrowed in fake anger. "No need to be so serious either," The young boy smirked, Gerard scoffed and looked around. "What is your name then?" Gerard cracked his fingers, nervously, and exhaled shivering. "Frank Iero, you can call me Frankie." They both turned their attention to an opening door, the sound originated from where Frank got kicked out from. A man like figure stomped out of the house, holding a chunk of wood. a gun, the manly silhouette cocked the gun with one hand. Gerard and Frank both confused, then Frank realized. "Shit, Run." Frank grasped onto Gerard's wrist to force him to run, they ran. They tried to keep quiet, it was late and everyone was asleep. Other than the insomniacs in the neighborhood who hang out late at night.

"Frank, who was that?" Gerard asked breathlessly, bending over and rest in on his knees exhausted. Frank sat plopped down onto the pavement, running his fingers through his hair. Gerard sat down in front of him, still out of breath. Frank hesitated, but exhaled stressfully. "My step dad." He whispered, his breathing shakey. "Was he going to kill you?" Gerard shouted, but in a whisper. "Well I'd be fine with it." Frank looked down, not wanting to face the truth. Gerard was dumbfounded, he knows how it feels to want to die but Frank seemed so amazing. "When I got kicked out, I was going to go straight to those woods to kill myself," Frank pulled out a hand gun, Gerard was shocked. "why didnt you?" He asked with his heart racing, Frank wanted to do this but Gerard had become attached to Frank. "I met you."

Gerard smiled, although his nerves are still numb from the current situation. "wh- what do you mean?" Gerard studdered, not sure of whether it help his suicide or stopped it. "I met you, you saved me." Frank looked up with a bright smile, Gerard chuckled just a bit. "Really?" Gerard asked, doubting that he could ever save anyone. "Yeah, you made me feel like I wasn't alone." Frank smiled and put the gun away, Gerard loosed the tense, and numb, feeling. "Where do you want to go?" Frank asked, Gerard shrugged and looked around. "Maybe take a look in those woods you were talking about." Gerard asked, almost immediately regretting what he said. "As long as i'm with you, sure." Frank smirked and stood up, Gerard did the same. "Let's go," Frank smiled and took Gerard's hand in his.
