as they grew, jeongguk slowly became distant, but that didn't stop taehyung from trying every way possible to contact him. phones, physical contact, through jimin— everything you can think of.

by this time, they were in 6th grade, which meant he— they were starting middle school. and he's heard how bad it was— but how bad could it really be?

worse than he thought.

people thought that it was okay to take their anger out him since he was too tiny and vulnerable to do anything. it hurt, it really did.

the worst part was that he wasn't with jimin or jeongguk. those two had almost of the same classes together. and to taehyung's distate, they didn't even have the same lunch period with taehyung.

in his new homeroom, he met someone familiar. hoseok.

and he despised hoseok. he tried avoiding the ball of energy so much, but it was absolutely, positively impossible.

taehyung felt alone, even though they were tons of people in front and beside him.

he's scared, too.

and because of all the nonsense he didn't deserve, he was so used to smiling when he clearly wasn't supposed to.

this is when taehyung had started to feel a little less happier than usual. it didn't go unnoticed by him, obviously, but he thought it was a phase every kid went through. he'd bottle up his feelings and spill at random times, but it was okay.

but was it okay, really?
