3rd Person P.O.V.
"Thank you New York City! You were amazing tonight! I love you all my little sunshines'!! Goodnight everyone, thank you!!" Haru screamed into the microphone as she waved to the crowd of people screaming her name. As she walked off stage she was smiling and shaking her head in disbelief.
"I can't believe this, they all came to see me. This has to be a dream." She spoke as she walked into her dressing room her two best friends were waiting with her manager. As she walked into the dressing room, she could see Ryan on his phone replying to YouTube comments, while Jun was admiring his new pastel orange hair in the mirror. Haru chuckles and shook her head as she sat down on the couch, catching their attention.
"Hey, girl you rocked out there! Four encores babyy!" shouted Ryan in a dramatic tone making both Jun and Haru laugh. Although she was surprised. She couldn't believe she filled up the entire Madison Square Garden. She felt like jumping up and down and crying at the same time from happiness. After years of trying to make, she finally has.Ever since she was fourteen years old she has been singing on the streets of Los Angeles with her guitar she got for her tenth birthday. She has been noticed, here and there, by some important people but they all had a picture of what kind of artist she should be so it never worked out. Until, one day three years ago, a producer by the name of Michael Chan noticed her singing on the streets near Hollywood Boulevard. At the time, he just started his record label and he needed artists that were different and knew what they wanted. That artist was Kwon Haru. They helped each other and now they were both finally being recognised in the music industry.
She couldn't be more grateful for meeting Michael and having a chance to live her dream and be home. On stage.
Haru's P.O.V.
"I can't believe I'm here! It's so surreal, am I dreaming?" I said to Jun and Ryan, looking up at Michael who was proudly nodding his head. I was still in shock when Jun pinched my arm saying "I don't know, are you?" while laughing.
"Oh fuck you CurryAhn." I said punching him in the arm, and we both laughed until Michael cleared his throat. We all turned our heads as he looked up from his phone and started talking.
"You were spectacular out there. You looked at home, that's where you belong Daylight." I smiled at what he said, but suddenly he turned serious and continued "This tour was amazing and you blew it out of the park, but you only had one show in Asia since you debuted and that show wasn't even sold out. Your popularity is rising everywhere, but the Asian audience hasn't accepted you yet, and we have to change that." He finished and I sighed. He was right. I barely have fans in Asia. The only place I had performed was in Tokyo and the place was half empty. When I debuted the media reacted in a negative way, especially in the US, after I said I was a black American singer from LA. They called me out for being ashamed of my Korean heritage. My mother is Korean while my father is a black American. I didn't know about the question so I said the first thing that popped into my head.
Even when I was little, whenever I would say I was Asian, people would look at me weirdly and say 'but you look black to me.' so I stopped saying I was Asian and just said that I'm black, so I wouldn't have to explain my whole family story. Then it fired back and I never really had support from Asian fans.
"I know, but what do you suggest I do? I spoke out about being proud of my Asian heritage multiple times. I don't know what else to do." I said desperately, looking down at my hands.
"I'll make some calls and we'll talk tomorrow. Be at my office at 10AM tomorrow, okay?" He spoke and I nodded as he left. I sighed and Jun put his arm over my shoulder trying to make me feel better. "Hey, you know who you are and what you are, you don't need other people to tell you that." Ryan said smiling softly at me.
