"Hoseok?" Her voice made him freeze up in his spot, his back facing her. He tried to ignore her and walk away but she was faster and soon her hand grabbed his shoulder, stopping him from walking away. "Wait!" Haru whisper shouted slowly turning him around, worry written all over her as they locked eyes. Hoseok hoped she couldn't tell he had been crying but from the look on her face, he assumed it was obvious.

"Are you alright?" She asked and he wanted to laugh at the question. Instead, he just looked at her with empty eyes, waiting for her to get bored with worrying and let him be. Her eyes widened and she blushed looking down before looking back at him with an awkward smile. 'See? Just your mere presence makes her uncomfortable.' His inner voice said with venom making Hoseok's need to go and relieve the pain even more urgent. He looked at the bathroom, hoping she'd let him go already.

"I'm sorry, that was a stupid question." She chuckled awkwardly but her eyes did flicker from Hoseok to the bathroom and a gut feeling told her she shouldn't leave him alone in such a bad state. Sure, they weren't friends. They were almost strangers to each other but he was still human and she could see he was hurting over something. His tear-stained face explained as much.

"I'm fine. I'm going to bed." He mumbled as he tried to turn around but she didn't remove her hand from his shoulder, her eyes slightly panicking. He pushed her hand away and went to open the bathroom door but got in the way again, standing in front of him now.

"Um, do you want some tea?" She asked, her voice uncertain as her eyes searched his face. He felt like she was seeing every flaw on his face. Every imperfection. Everything ugly. He felt anger rise up inside him as Yi's words echoed in his mind. 'Horse looking idiot'. The venom in her voice was so loud as if he heard it yesterday. It hurt like it did the first time he heard it. It tore at his confidence, or what's left of it anyway as well as his heart and soul. Hoseok felt his eyes burn yet again but he pushed the tears down, swallowing the lump in his throat.

His eyes locked with Haru again, her worried gaze waiting for him to answer her question. He just shook his head and tried to walk around her but she still wouldn't budge. He sighed exasperatedly looking at her, completely emotionless. She looked around before her eyes settled on Hoseok again and she bit her lip uncertainly.

"Can you keep me company then? For a little while at least?" She mumbled, a nervous smile on her face as she waited for his response. He assumed she was nervous because she didn't like being this close to him, who would? But he sighed and walked back to the kitchen, sitting down at the table. She walked in a few minutes later with a towel, handing it to him. He looked at her confused but took it anyway.

"You must be freezing. Did you walk in the rain?" Haru asked as she said opposite of him, her hand going around the mug as she took a sip of her tea. He didn't answer, making the room fill up with tension. Haru sighed, tapping her finger on the mug her eyes looking everywhere but at Hoseok. He didn't expect anything less but it still hurt knowing the voice was correct. Hoseok couldn't take the silence any longer so he sighed and spoke up.

"Why are you awake at this hour?" He asked, his eyes falling on her face as she finally met his eyes, she shrugged and a small smile on her face.  She wanted to ask him the same question but instead decided not to push it and just answer him.

"Couldn't sleep." She replied softly, thinking back to the awkward encounter with Jimin. Hoseok bit his tongue not to let a snide comment past his lips, thinking back to what he heard between her and Jimin.

"A lot on your mind?" He asked, the slight irritation slipping into his voice making her look up at him. Haru smiled awkwardly and nodded taking another sip from her tea which was lukewarm by this point.
