Haru was in bed, unable to sleep for most of the night after her first real conversation with Hoseok. He seemed somehow off. Somewhat broken and defeated. She didn't know what it was but it seemed like it was more than just their fake PR relationship. She knew not to push it through. They barely knew each other and up until last night, he wouldn't even look at her, let alone share secrets with her.
She thought back to him laughing and unbeknownst to her, she began smiling at the memory. Sure, he was laughing at her misfortune but it was such a contagious laugh she could barely stop herself from laughing with him. She didn't know why Hoseok didn't laugh often since she met him but from what she googled about BTs, she knew he is always described as the happiest member of the group. She wondered what made him lose that. She shook the thought away as she continued getting ready for their lunch date. She woke up late and saw a text from Band PD telling her the date was at 1 pm. She sighed. She assumed Hoseok and her could be great friends if it weren't for this shitty situation. She hoped they could become friends regardless.
Haru finished getting ready and smiled into the mirror. She looked great if she was being honest with herself.
As she walked out she was greeted by all seven members who were lounging in the living room, discussing something to do with their new album. She smiled as Jungkook waved at her before he looked down at his paper. She chuckled thinking the kid was adorable. Then her face froze as she saw Jimin looking at her with a sour expression. She cleared her throat before she sat down next to Hoseok who was busy arguing with Yoongi over a verse. She sighed looking at her phone but soon Yoongi pulled her out of her thoughts.
"Yo, Haru?" Yoongi suddenly asked making her jump, her hand on her heart. She glared at him before she smiled sweetly at him.
"If you shout into my ear like that one more time you'll have to sleep with both eyes open." She threatened and they all laughed except JUngkook who looked at her like she would bite him and Hoseok who looked just annoyed.
"Come on now, we're already best friends." Yoongi dismissed her words, flicking his hand in the same manner. She shook her head chuckling. She was the closest the Yoongi out of them all, so far. He was awesome and she could joke around with him without being afraid she'd offend him. As she said when she met him, he's her kinda person. "Anyway! Which line is better?" Yoongi asked, clearing his throat before dramatically reading two versions of the same verse.
"I won't tell you which one is mine and which one Hobi's as to not skew your objectiveness." Haru rolled her eyes, motioning for him to continue.
"First version: Now I know, even after the dark. To me, you are the light. You light me up." Yoongi paused, looking at Haru then at Hoseok before he continued. "Second version: Now I know, even after the darkness. To me, you are the morning. You woke me up." Yoongi finished his eyes looking at Haru expectantly. She sighed and thought it through. She nodded and looked at Yoongi then at Hoseok.
"The first version is dope. I get where you're coming from but-"
"But? Why is there a but?" Yoongi asked and now she knew he wrote the first version which made her laugh. She put her hands up in surrender before speaking up.
"Light me up? That's kind of aggressive, don't you think?" She challenged and she heard Hoseok chuckle next to her, making her look sideways and smile back at him. He turned serious once he noticed her looking but Haru was glad she at least made him smile.
"It's called passion, Haru!" That made her laugh as she tried to continue giving her opinion on the song.
"Yeah, sure. Anyway! The second version seems more natural to me. More real, I guess." Haru finished before both she and Hoseok got a message telling them to get to the restaurant for their date. She looked at Hoseok and smiled nervously before she got up and said bye to the other members.
