Hoseok's P.O.V
The atmosphere was anything but comfortable as Hoseok and Haru walked into the dorms, hand in hand. The moment they were inside, Hoseok let go of her hand as if her touch burned him. Haru's eyes widened for a split second, going unnoticed by Hoseok, who was busy throwing her bags on the couch in the living room. He didn't look back at her as he began explaining where was what in the dorm. Just a few days prior Hoseok was on the edge of doing something horrible to himself so he couldn't quite put on his usual happy-go-lucky mask.
"The kitchen is to your left. This is the living room. The rooms and the bathrooms are down the hall." He explained, his back still turned to her, before he sighed and shook his head slightly. He really couldn't do this. Nor did he want to put this girl through the pain of having to be in such close proximity to someone as unattractive as him.
"Make yourself at home." Hoseok mumbled, his feet taking him away from Haru as he slightly turned his head back. "I'm going to my room." Before he could leave, however, he heard her speak.
"Which room am I supposed to stay in?" Her voice seemed a tad bit irritated and Hoseok couldn't really blame her. 'She was in your pathetic presence, after all.' Hoseok thought to himself, the voice in his head making him grit his teeth, but he tried to push the feeling down, as always. He turned around, his face serious as they locked eyes. He noticed that she looked a bit out of place but he didn't have the energy to try and make her feel welcome. 'You're already disgusting and now you can't even be nice? You got nothing going for you.' Hoseok's inner voice taunted and he couldn't help but agree. Everyone else probably thought so too. His ex. The members. The fans. Probably Haru as well.
He sighed and thought about her question. There wasn't a spare room she could stay in and Bang said she was to stay in the dorm with the guys. He thought and then the realisation hit him. Of course. Even now he was winning. Hoseok took a deep breath and spoke up.
"There isn't a spare room but there's a free bed in Jimin's room." He finished, the voice in his head taunting him about everything he failed at that Jimin succeeded in. He didn't care where Haru stayed but it still irritated him that the only spare bed was in Jimin's room. It always had to be Jimin. Hoseok didn't notice that he was glaring at Haru so her next words surprised him.
"Okay, I get that this situation isn't ideal but you don't have to look at me like I just killed your dog." Haru said with what Hoseok assumed was fake humour in her voice making him cringe just thinking of how much she'll have to fake in the future. She probably is itching to wash her hand from when she held it a few minutes ago. He'd want to do the same if he was in her shoes. He looked down and rolled his eyes, wanting nothing more than to remove himself from this situation, but before he could do that, she walked up to him, her hand extended toward him.
"Believe me, I don't want this just as much as you, but it is what it is." She began and he scoffed internally thinking that of course, she wouldn't want this. No one would. "We didn't get the chance to introduce ourselves properly so..." She smiled awkwardly, looking down at her hand, waiting for him to shake it. He sighed and shook her hand, trying to smile but it looked more like a grimace than a genuine smile.
"I'm Kwon Haru." She said brightly. 'She's just faking that smile. You're worthless' the voice continued to taunt Hoseok's mind.
"Jung Hoseok." He said quietly, their hands still connected. She nodded, her smile slightly faltering at his tone but it was soon back to normal as she pulled her hand away before sitting down on the couch, her face turning up toward him.
"We should probably talk and get to know each other, ya know? Maybe make up a story about how we met and stuff like that." Haru suggested with a light tone but Hoseok just shook his head before he turned around.
