Ebony's P.O.V
--ony...Ebony! I slowly open my eyes as I find the bright lights of the town library. A female hovers over me. It's Jenna, my friend and librarian.
"Wake up sleepy head!" The bubbly blonde says in her joyous, upbeat tone, "Its 6:00, the library is closing! You had better get out of here!" "Thanks Jenna, I'll see you tomorrow." I say in my deep, dull voice. I hand her the book I had been reading so she can shelve it as I stretch out my cramped muscles and have a good yawn.
I hobble out of the old-timey library, fidgeting with my short black hair as I step out onto the top stair of the library and enjoy the view of the sun setting on the mountainous horizon of Hedgewood Hills. I jog down the steps, careful not to trip like I usually do, unfortunately my clumsiness kicks in and I stumble from the second to last step.
I fly through the air and land on something soft and warm.
I glance down and realize that I'm sitting on top of an old man with a long salt and pepper mustache and beard. His wooden cane lies about five feet away from us. " Oh my Gods I am SO sorry sir!!" I say, getting up from his stomach. I run and grab his cane, (which is vibrating for some strange reason) helping him up."It's alright young lady. I'll be fine." He says, shaking it off.
"Are you sure?""Yes, quite. Have a nice evening!"
He hobbles off, a knowing gleam in his eye. "You too now!" I holler back. I now turn towards the way of my home and jog back, supper will be waiting.
'Old Man's' P.O.V
I hate this form, hobbling down the street like some helpless rat. Of course Headmaster had to choose me for The Recruiting this year. I should have known being a savage (I was about to say cabbage. Heheh, Savage Cabbage) all year would have landed me in this spot. Gaaaahhh!I look up to find an eighth-grade-looking girl resting on my stomach. Wow. She's actually pretty cute! She's got short ebony hair and fiery red eyes. The curious look on her face turns to worry.
I blush behind my salt and pepper mustache and beard.
She pauses a second before she realizes what's going on. "Oh my Gods I'm SO sorry sir!!" She gets up and grabs the carved cane that the Headmaster said would vibrate when I found the newest recruit. It seems to be vibrating in her hands. Looks like I've found her.
