I am tired. So very tired.

How much longer will this meeting go on?

"So Mr. King, what did you think?"

I can feel their eyes burning my face. What do I think? Good question.

"Scrap all of it." I hefty close my binder, rubbing my temple.

"Excuse me? Sir, I don't think we will-" The girl's face that was giving the presentation looked shocked for a second.

"It needs to be redone. I cannot give the client this...mediocrity." I stare hard at her, not backing down.

I need to run this company better than my father. He had run the best business that he made in a couple of magazines. Who's to say I can't surpass him?

"Yes sir. Right away, sir."

"Alright. Are we done here?" I felt everyone in the room nod their heads. "Good. You may all go"

I walk by my office, seeing Lisa Bowles, my secretary on the phone. For a girl that just started as my secretary two months ago, she's doing a fine job. I wave at her as I make my way into my office.

You'd think this business would get any easier. It doesn't. As I watch everyone scurrying about the workspace, trying to get things done, there's a sense of calm to the chaos. I breathe in the scents I smell. I listen across the street to my favorite diner. Everything comes so easily. Then again, being a vampire in this business has its perks...and its drawbacks.

I need to page my secretary about my new receptionist. She's supposed to come in tomorrow morning. Daniel, my best friend and head of HR, said a receptionist would help the company out. I was adamant about it at first but her resume was...perfect. Maybe too perfect.

Her picture, however...

The girl was beautiful. She reminded me of my past lover, Nikita. But, I'd like to keep those thoughts where they belong...in the past.

I call Ms. Bowles from the phone. The woman practically has everything memorized. "Ms. Bowles, has my receptionist called about tomorrow yet? I'd like for everything to be ready when she gets here."

"Oh yes, sir, she just called. She'll be here at 8 am sharp tomorrow. Oh, and Mr. Sykes called. He'd like to let you know about the new building and wants you to call him as soon as possible."

"Wonderful. I'll get right on that. Thank you."

Mr. Sykes has been working on a new job venture I asked for. A new parking garage. The current one is falling apart and it's a safety hazard. I needed to keep my workers safe. I hope there aren't any problems with the construction, however, I believe in his skills.

I call him and see how the construction is going. He mentioned a couple of issues and I helped to resolve those issues, gave him the go-ahead on removing flooring, changing the slant of the entrance, and the foundation needs to be stronger.

Some hours later and it's time for everyone to go home. Well, I need dinner that's for sure. But where? I guess it's time to go for a hunt around town.
