We follow our old plan to sneak into the office. Truman and I in basement, Josh and Katy in the air vents etc. We don't wait this time though. Instead of waiting for an ok, we just pop up into the offices. There are some gaurds that come after us and one by one we have to take them out. I look over and see katy hoping down from the ceiling. She walks towards the door that Dylan and Kaylynn were.
" What are you doing?" I ask while we all follow katy in the room.
" I work for the committee and I know how to access whatever I need through any computer." She says while logging on to the computer in the room.
" What do you need to look for on there? We need to find the others!" Shouts Josh.
" Exactly! That's why I need the computer. To find the others. By hacking the SERVAL camera's. " Says katy.
She keeps searching for a few minutes and can't get it to work. " What? What is going?!" She Shouts at the computer .
" I don't know, nor do I care! We need to hurry up!" Says Alyssa.
" Well well well, what do we have here?" Said a voice from behind.
" Damn it!" Says Alyssa. We turn and see Zach. He has three gaurds behind him.
" I tried to be nice, but now you need to come with me." He said.
" Hell no! I'm not going!" I say standing up and aiming my pistol at his for head. He starts laughing at me.
" You think you have a choice? You don't. Either you come with me, no problems. Or your friends die. Your pick." He says reaching for my gun.
I put my gun back in the holster and follow him.
" Your gun please." Says one of the guards.
" Yes sir." I say placing my guns in his hands.
" What are you doing?" Asks Truman.
" Just do as he says." I say turning back to look at him. Then making sure the gaurds can't see, I look at my belt, making then realize that if we give our guns we still have our other weapons. They hand the gaurds their weapons and we walk towards the desks in the room. We see Dan walk out of a room and behind are Dylan and Kaylynn, their legs are chained together, with their arms behind their backs and cuffs around their necks, holding Dylan and Kaylynn together by their necks.
" Good, you got them." Says Dan to Zach.
" Yes sir. We were captured by your friends who if I must say are quite smart for finding us. It's only been about two weeks since we became a problem to you!" Says Isabel with a sarcastic English accent trying to sound proper.
" Thanks, but I don't need your flattering. Who is the one who is in charge of you?" Asks Dan.
We all look around confused. We don't get what he means.
Dan sighs. " Like who the hell is the one who rallied yall up and wants yall to take over?" He says.
Truman looks over at katy, and then to me.
" It's me." I say walking towards him. " And why does it matter who rallied us? No one in this group agrees with what you are saying. So we all rallied. " I say trying my very best to sound intimidating.
" Look kid. I don't care anymore. We tried to get you to stop, you didn't. We tried to kill you, and you fled. Who is to say you won't do it again? So we are having an execution now. Follow me to the stage, or I kill you now and I will drag your lifeless body to the stage, just to throw you off. " He pauses. " Now get out of my face." He says, even though he is four feet away from me.
" But I'm not in your face!" I say. " Lucas enough!" Says Dylan from behind Dan. Dan walks up and puts his face in mine. " You are now." He says. He stares at me for a few seconds. Gritting his teeth. He pushes and has the others follow him to the stage.
To get to the stage from the offices, you have to walk out of the office doors and go down the hall to two grey doors and inside is the auditorium where we have class. I walk up to katy and tap her wrist.
" Hey we better act soon because once we are up on that stage it will be almost impossible to escape." I say.
" Hey! No talking!" Says a gaurd.
We continue to walk and inside the auditorium there are several single chairs and two doors on the sides of the stage. we are now on stage. The room is full of people. Some students, others are the adult leaders of corridors, and others are committee officials. From the stage I can see Stephen and Jeff in the very back corner by the door. Stephen has his arms crossed and Jeff's hands are clenched into fists.
" Students please quiet down. We have a special announcement. The following students have committed treason upon us. They wanted to over throw our government, and kill us all! " Says Dan. He is clearly lying but no one here knows that. I look over at Dylan. He struggles to keep his eyes open, he looks battered and broken. Kaylynn is shaking, like an endless battle between her and her knees as she tries to stand. They are both tired and hurt. I want to run over there and help them so badly but I can't. If I move they will shoot me sooner.
" Look around, no one here will save you. Because no one cares about you, or anyone else here. Look these kids are just so afraid that someone is after them, they don't care of you die. That means for them that there is one less person in their way, because they don't no that they won't really die. You really will though." Says Dan Whispering into my ear from behind me. He pushes through me and Alyssa and walks to the front of the stage.
" Children, we hope not to scare you but these are criminals. They wanted each and everyone of you dead. So to ensure your safety we will execute them in front of you so you know you're safe. " Dan continues on but I zone him out. I focus on Jeff. He leans behind Stephens left ear and he is telling him something. He makes eye contact with me and mouths the words ' DIE KRIEGER'. He wants us to stay strong and brave like how we use to be. He reaches down slowly towards his hip. He takes his pistol out of its holster and raises it. I can see him aim for Dan.
Dan falls to the floor grabbing his stomach and gasping for air. The kids in the room are panicking and running all over the place, like an angry bee hive that has been disturbed. Gaurds push through the kids trying to get to us. Alyssa grabs my arm and pulls me towards the door on the left side of the stage and I grab Dylan's arm which yanks his and Kaylynns neck. We run out of the doors and it leads directly outside. They sky is grey and cloudy. We look over and see that Katy, Josh and Truman followed.
" We have to run to the front of the building if we want to escape!" Shouts Katy. We follow her to the front crossing a patio area. There are two pounds with fountains on either side of the bridge that leads to the front doors of the building. We run down the bridge towards the field that they let us play on during the day. There are some old military vehicles parked in the corner of the field that haven't ever been used, at least I don't think they have. We hear a sharp whistle come from behind us. I turn to see a man not wearing a shirt with a tattoo of a open circle with three lines in the center on his chest, and he had a brown sack over his head. "You will need these to get out of here!" He says throwing the keys at Truman.
" I don't know how to drive!" Says Truman while we rush into the vehicle.
" I do!" Shouts Alyssa taking the keys and pushing Truman out of her way to hop into the vehicle.
The vehicle has three rows of chairs. The first having just a driver and a passenger. The second had three chairs, same as the third row. I sit in the second row on the right, with kaylynn on the left and Dylan in the middle . In the third row are Isabel on the right and Josh on the left.
" Are you coming with us?" Asks Alyssa to the man as Truman hops into the passenger seat.
" No, but go! They are coming!" He says closing the driver side door and slamming the hood of the car then running towards the left of the field to the woods. The gaurds are running out after us as fast as they can. There are so many of them. Katy still stands outside the vehicle and shuts the doors. Her gloves scratching into the door and shredding the paint. She pulls her gun out and shots one bullet into the air and then to the passenger door, the bullet barely missing Truman leg.
" Go! Go! Drive!" We all shout af Alyssa. She slams on the gas and we lunge forward. Katy and gaurds still shoot at out car as we disappear into the forest. We drive through the forest and try to dodge the trees that surround us while the gloomy sky hovers above like a dark grey blanket .
" What's the plan? Run off and go where? It's not like we know where we are going! We haven't ever left those grounds before!" Says Truman trying to find a map in the glove box. I still struggle to unlock the chains around Dylan and Kaylynn.
" OK, don't move. This might hurt a little." I say pulling out a spin blade and cutting the chains between their heads, legs, and arms.
" Thanks but this is still dangling from my limbs like vines on a damn tree." Says Kaylynn throwing her arms up looking kinda like a monkey.
" they're coming !" Dylan shouts looking through rear windshield.
" relax I got this !" Alyssa snaps at Dylan .
I look through the rear windshield and see them getting closer . And closer .
I look down at my pistol , I reach for it and try to roll down my window , but it's locked .
" Alyssa un-lock my window !" I scream .
"No!" She shouts while trying to turn the car away from a bush .
I irritatedly groan and shoot my window for it to open .
" WHAT ARE YOU DOING ?" Shouts Isabel.
" let's think about this for a minute!" Says Truman
" we don't have a minute!" I say
" I'm trying to be realistic " says Truman
" no you're trying to be smart . As usual ." Says Kaylynn.
" trust me !" I say before sticking my head and right arm out of the window . Aiming for the back right tire I wait for an up coming tree or bush or rock to get in the way so Alyssa has to turn . She starts turning as another tree is in our way and I hesitantly pull the trigger , releasing a bullet and penetrating the tire causing our vehicle to flip over . We roll and slam into everything in our path and the hood is on fire with all the glass shattering and the top of the car , like the doors , getting smashed in .
