Chapter 2 <3 <3 <3
-Caleb-
“Hey Rachel!” I smiled as I opened the front door.
“Hey.”
“How have you been?”
We walked into the kitchen. “Good. You?”
“Just dandy.”
“Dandy?” She chuckled. It was cute.
We got out our books and began working on our project.
An hour later, we were both getting pretty frustrated because we couldn’t find the information we needed.
“I don’t get it! Why won’t they put that information in the book!?” Rachel was getting really stressed. A tear rolled down her cheek. She quickly wiped it away, probably hoping that I didn’t see it. But I did.
I got up and walked over to her. “Let’s take a break okay?”
“Okay.”She got up.
Before she could get very far, I reached out and wrapped her in a hug. She looked confused, at first, then she tried to pull away.
“Shh.” I whispered. Finally, she hugged me back.
She pulled away first and then I asked, “How about a snack?”
“Okay.”
I walked over to the pantry and then called back to her, “Goldfish? Or is that to little kid-ish?”
She chuckled. “Nah, it’s fine. I love Goldfish.”
I smiled. “Really? Me too.”

~A Few Days Later~
-Rachel-
I walked over to my locker right before my history class to grab my binder. As I opened my locker, a picture fell out. Picking it up, I saw that it was my mom and me. My mind flashed back to the rest of her conversation with me.
“You also had a twin brother.” She calmly told me.
“What?” I looked up, confused.
She sighed. “When the abortion procedure was done, it ripped off one of his arms.”
I gasped.
Continuing, she said, “He was born, but only lived a few minutes.”
Tears streamed down my face. “Why did she do that to us?”
My mom got up and hugged me, “She didn’t realize what she was doing and when she finally did, it was too late.”
“What didn’t she want me?!” I almost screamed, as I choked on my tears.
“Honey, calm down.” She rubbed my back.
Tears were rolling down my cheek before I could stop them. I quickly wiped them away before anyone noticed. I grabbed my binder and hoped that no one would notice my red eyes.
As I walked down the hallway to my history classroom a few of the snobby annoying girls stopped me.
“Someone’s been crying.” They said loudly as they pointed at me. The people nearby stopped and stared.
I tried to ignore it and walk away, but one girl pinned me to the wall and started shouting in my face about how I was a cry baby and how I was a loser and blah blah blah.
It was all I could do to keep the tears in. I tried to get free from her grasp, but it was no good. I felt trapped and helpless.
Suddenly, I felt someone shove the girl away from me and take me by the hand and pull me away. It was Caleb.
