This is a book of Naruto ships that I love & some that I hate, along with some multimedia 😉. I won't be slut-shaming or doing anything like that in here. All my "rants" will mostly be arguments about sh...
Sooo, on to shikatema. Actually let me apologize first for not updating in a shit ton of months. I've been really overwhelmed with school work so everything was kind of just on a halt.
Oh shikatema..so many feels for this ship.
First, y'all may have noticed my rant on shikaino back there. If you didn't, here's just a short summary of what I wrote.
Basically, shikaino is primarily friendship and not love and if you shikaino shippers can't get that into your thick skulls then you obviously don't know what real love is. Shikamaru only really thinks of ino as a friend, there's never been any implied notion that he thinks she's pretty, or she thinks he's hot, or anything about their personalities. They clearly only have feelings of friendship for each other. What I'm really pissed about the shikaino fandom is that they honestly just wanted someone to ship with Ino and Shikamaru just seemed like the only dude they could see with her, probably because they're on the same squad.
This TRIGGERS me. You don't just ship two people just because they look relatively good together and are friends.
Anyways, on to shikamaru and temari. How can you NOT ship this ship? They've really been together from the beginning as a competitive, yet friendly relationship. The chunin exams were especially interesting to watch (the fight between them), and the aftermath while shikamaru struggled to restrain Tayuya was AMAZING. We finally got some girl power there, when temari comes to save her Prince Charming, and ultimately impresses him.
On to the next progression, Shikamaru leads Temari around town for a short tour in Naruto Shippuden. Naruto mentions if they were a couple or not, causing both of them to berate him. Shikamaru ponders about how troublesome wives WHILE temari was there.
TBH, I feel like this was literally the only ship Kishimoto really gave development to. I'm not saying the other ships are bad, it's just Kishimoto is kind of shitty at writing romance. Kudos to him for shikatema which I thoroughly ship.
Also, next episode (494??) had TONS of shikatema moments, THEY WENT ON A DATE FOR GODS SAKE IF YOU HAVENT SEEN IT HERE ARE SOME EPIC SCREENSHOTS FROM IT HERE-
