    "Derek your not getting a nose piercing." I say after swallowing a bite of the cafeterias baked potato and ham. It's so dry and gross, but I manage to get it down. "Yes I am Tess, I think it would look cool." Derek says playing with his food."Kim tell him it's not a good idea!"I say trying to get my point across. "Chillax, I think it will look sick."she says and winks at Derek with a big Smile on her face. "Thank you Kim, I just hope Andrew will take notice in it as well, he's been a little off lately?" Derek sounds sad. "Well screw Andrew you got us." Says Kim. She's not really one to pay attention to emotions. She just says what she wants to say. Her and Derek are very much alike, where as me; I like to keep a low-er profile.

    "Look I'm sure your going to get it no matter what I say, but just know this. It could get infected and you will have yellow puss seeping from your nose and out your ears." I say leaning back in my chair. I could hear the kids at the table behind us whispering loudly to each other.

    "I would have totally believed you if I were 6! Ten years have passed Tess I'm a grown man." I laugh along with Kim as he looks at us mouth open wide.

    "Hello, earth to Derek. Do you read me." I say noticing his awed expression. "You guys, I found my future husband." Derek says.

    I look back to see a tall guy, probably 16-17 with dark brown hair, chiseled jawline and green and hazel eyes.
"Woooow." Kim says smirking as she looks behind as well. He walks with a tray of food in hand and goes to an empty table at the back of the hall. His dark denim jacket covers a black shirt. I like his shirt. It's plain, but I like it.

    The whispering from behind me cuts my train of thought and I look away from him.

    "Did you guys see that new guy?"
"Ya he was in my class."
"Kinda a freak hey?"
"Ya but he's extremely hot."

    They all burst into giggles and I roll my eyes. Those are the kind of people I hate.

    "So I'm getting the piercing today, after our supper date tonight and I want you all to come." Derek says. "I guess so, it's not like I have anything better to do." I say moving my food tray away from me, not being able to handle anymore of the foul prison-like food. "Ugh I'm offended." Says Kim, obvious to my state of boredom.

    I reach up to fix my ponytail; I notice they both go silent after seeing my wrist. They put there heads down pretending they didn't see anything. "When did that happen." Kim says. Derek shoots her a warning glance for he knows I get uncomfortable talking about it."last night."I say once finished my hair. I cover it up with my sleeves, suddenly becoming embarrassed."Tess why don't you tell someone." Derek chimes in."you guys we've been over this before. I can't let Charlie grow up in foster care. I can't do that to him." They nod, not saying more about it. I'm glad they got the hint.

    We left to our next class after lunch but as Derek opened the door to leave, I glanced back to see the new kid staring at my covered wrist. Did he notice? I hurry out after Derek and Kim with my bruised wrist against my chest.

    Finally. Math was my worst subject. I walk through the empty halls to the place where I will spend the next hour listening to Mr.Berks snoring as he sits back in his chair, only waking up if the door opens. I swear he was a deaf man in his past life so he was granted spidy senses in this one.

    I see Derek sitting in his usual spot during our detention times. It's just the two of us when the door opens. I turn my head in time see Mr.Berk come to life;sitting up, and the new kid walks in looking around for a place to sit. Berks goes right back to sleep and new guy walks over and sits 4 seats behind me.
Directly inline with my seat. I feel his gaze burning my back."He's here." He whispers."No shit." I spit back. "Are we still on for tonight?" He asks. "Ya. Let's go to Rosewoods finest, Sandy's café?" I ask. "You know it." He says.

    I spent the rest of the hour doing my homework and staring at the wall. Although the whole time I couldn't get the feeling of him starring at me away.

    When the timer went off new guy was the first one to leave. He made a mad dash to the door and was gone. I wonder what he did the first day to get him into detention?
