"Lance, you owe me twenty bucks now. Time to pay up or die."
Pidge said holding out her hand while taking a sip of her coffee. Lance sighed and slowly reached to his back pocket to pull out the precious twenty dollar bill.
"Damn it. I thought I was going to win."
"And why would you think that?"
"Because you roasted her so bad that I could've sworn she was searching the internet to get you back."
Lance smirked and crossed his arms.
"Naw, Naw... if I remember correctly, it was because she found an article about a new season to one of her shows-"
"It's called anime."
"Yeah, whatever."

"Not to brag but my face is probably softer than Keith's--"
"Lance, who cares about you and your stupid fucking skin care products."
Keith rolled his eyes and leaned back in his chair. Lance frowned and glared at him through a glance.
"Well I do, thank you very much, Mullet. At least my face is softer and more luscious than yours is."
"Oh yeah? You want some of this!? I'll show you what a luscious face looks like!"
"Oh yeah... I-I'll show you what... what... MY FACE FEELS LIKE!"
"Ohh~... good one, Lance!"
Hunk said enthusiastically.
The two other boys ignored him and shot up from their chairs, deadpanned each other. Lance had a confident yet cocky smirk plastered on his soft tanned face and his hands were crossed. Keith clenched his teeth, made a fist, and was about ready to punch that smirk off of Lance's stupid face while Shiro jolted up with a disappointed yet slightly angry expression on his face. He quickly moved to Keith and pulled him back.
"Seriously? Out of all things and places to pick a fight over, you choose this? I thought you knew better, both of you!"
He said using his inner dad voice. Everyone in their group looked at him with wide 'oh no he didn't' eyes.
"Ohh~... Daddy Shiro's popping out..-"
"Zoey?"
"Yes, Pidgeon?"
"Shut up, please. I'd like to here how Lance is dealing with this."
"Fair enough."
"Pidge, Zoey, I think both of you should be quite so you do not catch heck from your father, okay?"
Allura whispered and smiled towards the end. Everyone except for Keith had known each other since or before grade school. It started off with Lance meeting Hunk in a daycare that they used to go to and a few years later in second-grade Hunk meeting Pidge who was actually a first grader taking second-grade classes. Then, they met Shiro when he was in fourth grade and they were in third grade. A year or two later came Allura. Allura had moved to America with her uncle Coran from England. Allura was or is in Shiro's year/grade.
When Shiro and Allura were in fifth grade and Lance, Pidge, and Hunk were in fourth grade, Zoey came along. Zoey was in the had transferred from being homeschooled to public school. Lance had stood up for her because of bullies. Lance practically shielded her. Their group was nothing like any other. They weren't like your typical friends who would do every single thing together and do cringy stuff. No, they were like a family.
